The initial eye exam went well, and I did need a change to my prescription, which was completely fine. Unfortunately, the process after that left me extremely frustrated. I chose to keep my existing frames because I like them. Even after paying $170+ for the new lenses, I was then told that Visionworks needed to take my actual glasses for 7–14 days while the lenses are made. So I am now potentially going to be without my glasses for two weeks. When I questioned this, I was essentially asked, “Is that going to be okay?” But realistically, what choice do I have at that point? I need the new prescription, I’ve already paid, and apparently surrendering the glasses I currently use is the only process available. This seems like a significant flaw in the process, especially when the frame is an identifiable style/model. Why can’t the frame information and measurements be taken, the new lenses manufactured, and then the customer return with their existing glasses once the lenses are ready? At that point, remove the old lenses, fit and properly secure the new ones, and the customer is without their glasses for a short appointment rather than potentially two weeks. If there is a technical reason that isn't possible, then there should at least be some alternative offered for customers. The staff were pleasant and the exam itself was good, but simply asking whether being without my glasses for up to two weeks is “okay” after I have paid doesn't solve the problem. There needs to be a more customer-friendly process than this.

I had a great experience at Visionworks. From the moment I walked in, the reception staff was welcoming and made the check-in process smooth and easy. The wait time was short, which I really appreciated. The eye tech was both friendly and professional, making the whole exam process comfortable. The doctor was knowledgeable, kind, and took the time to really listen to my needs without rushing. Even though the Mall of Georgia location is closer for me, I choose to come to this Gainesville location because of the consistently great customer service. It truly makes a difference. I’ve already recommended this place to friends and family and will continue to do so.
