Every single employee was so impressive. The lady who checked us in and helped give an opinion on my glasses was great. I don't remember the name of the young man who gave me the initial tests but he was so friendly and had such great energy. I was not in a great mood that day but he lifted my spirits. The Dr was thorough and efficient and Melissa is a gem. We have worked with her before. Her knowledge and support amaze me. I had 2 insurances and got 2 pairs. She compared the plans to help me get the best price. I felt very confident leaving with a pair of glasses that looked great. Thank you everyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for visionworks in clifton park!

I can unfortunately see why the ratings are not so great. I have had a couple times running into the issue of not allowing me to get a couple more pairs of contacts to hold me over until my next appointment. I know some places are very nice and work with you and help you and provide you “trial lenses”. I had offered to pay for the couple pair of contacts and to continue to give Visionworks my business. I understand the part about having an expired prescription, but to be able to get two sets is impossible with Visionworks. My exam is about less than two months away, and it would not make sense for me to pay out of pocket for an exam that will be covered in less than two months. It is very very frustrating and upsetting the lack of caring and help that is provided to clients/customers. I have finally had enough and now switching to a “private” small office, that’s more caring and receptive.
Ashley was absolutely amazing! She was kind, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She took the time to answer all my questions, helped me find the perfect pair of glasses, and made the experience easy and enjoyable. Her customer service went above and beyond, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. If you visit this store, I highly recommend asking for Ashley!
Great experience here! [Marie @ Vision Works Latham NY] was incredibly helpful, polite, and efficient. Marie went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Outstanding employee she should be promoted. I am thinking about switching from Clifton Park store to Latham as long as I can be seen by Marie.
It was a mess from the start. The employees either got my insurance information incorrect or they tried to con an extra $50-$80 out of me. They claimed my insurance either covers a glasses examination or a contacts examination but not both so I would need to pay for the contacts examination. It’s stated in my proof of coverage that BOTH are covered. When I tried to debate it it was clear they had no interest in verifying it. I should’ve left right there. They tried to upgrade me on a $35 medical service and didn’t offer the free version of dilating my eyes, a service that I always get included with other providers. All of that is aside from the fact that upgrading me at all on medical services made me feel more like I was haggling with used car salesmen instead of seeing a doctor for the good of my eye health. I originally called to verify that I would have a female doctor but I ended up with a male doctor. The exam was fine and the doctor was respectful but it was weird. When I went to the front to await the glasses selection, the manager was unprofessional towards another patient in full view of the store. She was dismissive of the patient’s concerns and defended her staff immediately without listening. The manager was gossiping about patients and other employees (?) behind the desk. Employees were socializing instead of helping more customers, especially the blond haired woman. Employees only answered the barest of questions and when I tried asking more they made assumptions about what I could pay for instead of informing me on what my insurance allowed. The frames prices are laughably inflated. I tried on pair of gold Ray Ban aviators that are $140ish through Ray Ban themselves and are $300 at vision works. If you have literally anyone else in network go to them and save yourself the awkwardness and extra expense. Good luck. EDIT: Hi, Visionworks. You have my real name and the address where I had my appointment. You have access to my contact information as well as an in depth description of multiple failures in your business model and your customer service incompetencies. You have every way possible to reach out to me and resolve this. I don’t owe you an extra email and I am not going to do all the work for you. Responding in lip service instead of putting forth a genuine effort to find a solution is expected, even if still disappointing.
