I was milking an outdated prescription making myself think it was o.k. That the fuzzy lines were something I could live with is what I told myself. The prescription was about somewhere around eight years old. I even used it to order some glasses online a few years back and they were just an old prescription in new frames. I love photography and have been at it fifty years and even that was getting a little harder. Because the place I chose to go, was next to the best Indian Restaurant from Louisville to Nashville, I had been seeing this eye store for a long long time. So I called Vision Works in Elizabethtown and talked to a nice girl named Anna ( Prounounced Aw-Nah). I made an appointment and on the day I walked in it was crowded. I thought either this is a bad sign or I have finally found eye glass heaven, it was the latter. From the warm greeting walking in, to the receptionist, to the eye test girl and to Dr Mcfadden, the whole process was intentionally made of three things, extreme professionalism, caring, and kindness. The kind folks who helped me were friendly and not the fake friendly but the real kind. Elijah helped me order the pair I got, figure everything out and is a remarkable young man. He understood my passion for Flexon frames. I of course did go long on his name because of it's Biblical significance and my complete love of the name. He probably hears that a lot.He also gets an A+ for being genuinely kind hearted. Two more folks I met later when picking up my second pair were Taylor and Patricia. Two kind and very sincere young people unafraid and inquisitive. We had a great conversation as they were close to closing and it had slowed down. They were a breath of fresh air in an often very stuffy world. So if your looking for a professional, kind and friendly place to get glasses I really cant think of a better place. I am more than happy with my glasses for now I can see. I got a deal of buy one pair get one free and of course they are Flexon frames. You know the ones Moses wore leading the folks through the desert for forty years...LOL.The frames meant to hold up when the going gets tough. So I recommend Vision Works whole heartedly. I am thankful Dr Mcfadden and his crew helped my eyes stay healthy so I can keep doing what I love doing....seeing. Below are some of my newest fall pictures of Bernheim . I whole heartedly without reservation recommend Vision Works in E-town.

Everyone was amazing The experience was unhinged over the top they were so engaged with everyone (staff). I was really uncertain how the afternoon would play out… I was running 5 mins late then no parking so I thought this is going to be packed and just horrible service but to my amazement it was like going into another place in another world, just like a friendly little neighborhood and wasn’t a grumpy person anywhere. SUCH AN AMAZING STAFF. Mad props.
It's fast, safe, and reliable!!! I took my daughter there, and we were treated very well. The staff was very kind and friendly, and above all, the order and cleanliness upon entering was excellent. For an eye exam, it's 10/10 in every aspect. There's a huge variety of lens colors and styles, adapting to your vision improvement and your budget. Without a doubt, 10/10. They accept medical insurance. Very grateful for the service.
I recently visited Visionworks in Elizabethtown and would rate my overall experience a 3 out of 5. On a positive note, the provider who performed my eye exam was excellent—professional, kind, and attentive. She made me feel heard and comfortable, and I truly appreciated her level of care. The staff assisting with my contact lenses were also helpful, and I did not experience a long wait time, which was a plus. However, the initial part of my visit left much to be desired. The first staff member I encountered came across as rushed and disengaged. There was little to no eye contact or communication, and the interaction felt very impersonal—especially concerning when dealing with something as important as eye care. Additionally, I was concerned about the cleanliness and overall setup of the contact lens area. The space did not feel as sanitary or private as expected for handling and inserting contacts. There appeared to be limited access to proper handwashing and hygiene supplies, and the open layout made the experience feel uncomfortable, as personal information and activities were visible to others nearby. While the efficiency of getting patients in and out is appreciated, the overall environment and patient experience felt rushed and lacking in attentiveness and privacy. It no longer feels like the level of care I would expect from an eye care facility. With improvements in customer interaction, sanitation, and patient privacy, this location could provide a much better experience.
Most of the staff was friendly and some were helpful but the communication in this location is terrible. They really need to make sure that if anyone is to receive proper training it should be the people up front. I gonin and ask questions and explain very clearly what we want and at the end its always a mess. I forgot this is why I quit coming here. My favorite part was when they called to tell me they didnt charge me for an exam I didnt even want because it wasnt the one we went there for and proceeded to tell me they did me a favor lol
