My dog ate my child’s lenses. I called to get new lenses made in November. They told me to wait a few weeks for my insurance to cover them and an exam. So I made an appointment for December. They called me yesterday and told me my insurance was actually every 2 years. So I asked if I could just get the lenses then. And they said no, his prescription ran out last week. If they had let me get the lenses last week, I wouldn’t have had to pay for a whole eye exam. So scammy. They won’t extend the prescription one week?

I had to renew my prescription to order contacts. I put my contact order in with my updated prescription, but my order was cancelled several days later. This was not a pressing issue at the time, so I tried order new contacts a couple more times and had no success. I called the Vision Center in the Hampstead Wal Mart, spoke to Chris asking if I could order the contacts through them. Chris informed me that I could only order one specific brand of contacts that the Dr. put on my prescription. This brand is also what they fitted me when during my appointment. Chris told me because the Dr. put this one brand on my prescription I can only order that brand. This has never happened and I thought it was a little strange. I asked Chris to take that stipulation off my Rx so I can order the brand I have been using for the last 7-8 years. He said he needs to ask the Dr. because its up to her. I called back the next day because Chris never contacted me, and he informed me I need to come in for a test fitting for that specific brand that I want. Again, seems unnecessary but I asked to be scheduled so I can get the contacts I want....not what the Dr. listed as my only choice. Chris informed me it would be an additional $50 charge and I would have to wait for the brand I want to come into their store. So far it has been two weeks now since I asked them to order the contacts. I called yesterday and Chris told me they still have not come in and he was finally going to see what the problem is. This is after he balled parked 3-5 days for them to come in. He told me the Dr. is requiring this test fitting so no damages or liability could come back on them. I asked if I could sign a waiver taking away any responsibility on their part, could we take off the one brand only that the Dr. put on there. Chris informed me he would have to ask the Dr., but the Dr. is on vacation and wont be back until next week. Which now delays me for three weeks. I had my last eye appointment at this vision center, almost 4 years ago and did not have this issue. I order the contacts from 1-800-contacts with no problem. I was not subject to only one specific brand from the Dr. I can only assume the Dr. pushed this brand because they have high inventory or will get some sort of bonus if they push enough of this brand. This experience so far has been an absolute joke. The Dr. is a complete joke, the staff has been a complete joke. I was never told during my initial appointment that I would only be allowed to order one brand of contacts. That has never happened for all the years I have been wearing contacts. If I was told I would have made sure I would not be in the current situation I am in now. Its been about two and half months and I still only have the pair of contacts given to me from my appointment, I cant order the brand I want, and every I have called the store with solutions the dullards act like they have no clue of what to do. I will never come back to this vision center. I will advise anyone seeking eye appointments to never go there.
Excellent experience all around. Dr took her time explaining everything I needed to know, got me a great looking pair of glasses within a week without any up charging pressure. Fantastic experience.
I really like Dr Wilson. She is the best optometrist I’ve ever had in my 35 years of wearing glasses. She is very thorough and also took time answering all my numerous questions.
My eye doctor retired and I wasn't sure where to get my eyes examined so I went to the vision center at the Hampstead Walmart and so glad I did! The exam was excellent and the personnel could not have been nicer. What a pleasant experience. Very happy!
