I realize some employees at retail businesses are terrific and some are far from it. I also realize some customers have bad experiences while others have a pleasant experience. All I can say is the several times I have been here, I have been privileged to speak with courteous, polite and helpful employees and gotten a nice, decently priced pair of glasses.

After having terrible experience with Doctor Cheslock office, went over to Vision Center and met the staff while waiting on Dr. Walther to evaluate my eyes and write a prescription. Donnie assisted me on my needs and went beyond service protocol. Now I just need to get my insurance to help on my prescription and glasses. UPDATE: Had glasses come in twice with incorrect lenses but Donnie and manager Mallory helped to get all resolved and now my motorcycle riding glasses are here, picked up yesterday. Mallory was awesome to boot. Thank You Walmart Vision center for having employees like Mallory and Donnie who are great at customer relations! Conrad
This Walmart has not had an eye doctor there since April 2025 and before that when they did have a doc, they didn't take insurance. I'm not sure how they are staying open but since Coos Bay is a small town and there isn't a ton of options and nobody else in town takes Eyemed- I sure hope that Walmart gets this figured out really soon.
Dr. Walther and team were friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The prescription I got from this office was perfect. Dr. Walther took his time, asked questions, and after talking about what I did for a living wrote me a secondary prescription tailored to my job. I'd never considered going to a Walmart for an eye exam until now but they were the only office with openings near me that weren't booked 2+ months out. In fact I had an appointment scheduled in less than a couple of weeks. I ended up buying my glasses online, but I'd gladly go here again. Great experience!
The Optometrist that gave me my eye exam was elderly and deaf. My prescription was worthless. Paid over $200. for new glasses that don’t work because the prescription is so off. Asked for a refund and they passed me onto another company. Claiming they are no longer responsible for their error. I had to get a referral to another eye clinic, for yet another eye exam. They got the prescription correct and now I paid over $400 for new glasses. They had no business hiring an elderly deaf person to preform the eye exams. He retired the next month. This was a horrible experience and I will never go back after they stole over $200 from me for a pair of bad, unusable glasses. Grade- F
