I made an appointment at this dental office and, unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had as a patient. I arrived early, completed all of the new patient paperwork, and was told I would be seen shortly. When I was brought into the exam room, the dental assistant began taking X-rays. The process was extremely uncomfortable because she repeatedly tried to force oversized bite blocks into my mouth, despite my obvious discomfort. By the end of the X-rays, my mouth and gums were sore. When the dentist finally came in, the interaction felt very impersonal. She barely greeted me before beginning the examination and pressed aggressively on my gums, which added to the discomfort. After the exam, I was simply handed paperwork and told to schedule another appointment for a cleaning. What frustrated me most was that I spent nearly an hour there only to be told I needed to come back for the actual cleaning. Better communication beforehand would have saved me time and managed my expectations. Professionalism, courtesy, and patient comfort go a long way, and unfortunately, those qualities were lacking throughout my visit.
