Today I was able to get an appointment and the staff was professional and kind. I have had all good experiences with the doctors and nurse practitioners since I've been here

Today I had a very disappointing experience at AdvantageCare Physicians. I scheduled a same-day appointment with my internal medicine doctor. When I logged into the app earlier that morning, I noticed that my insurance information had been removed, even though my Anthem plan has always been on file and is the one I consistently use—with no copay. I updated my insurance information by uploading both my Anthem plan and my newer Aetna plan. However, upon arrival, I was told—rather abruptly—that I had to use Aetna as my primary insurance and pay a $30 copay. I clearly explained that I wanted to use my Anthem insurance, which has always been accepted at this office and does not require a copay. Despite this, the staff insisted that Aetna was listed as my primary in their system and refused to process the visit using my Anthem coverage. There was no effort to resolve the issue, verify the correct primary insurance, or provide any alternative solution. The interaction felt dismissive and unhelpful. As a result, I was not seen and had to leave without care. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Patients should not be forced to use a specific insurance when they have valid coverage options, especially when the issue appears to stem from an internal system error. I hope AdvantageCare Physicians improves both their administrative processes and their patient service approach.

If I could give this place a zero I would. I showed up ON TIME (and not early) to my appointment and the doctor Barbara Heath refused to see me. She told the nurse to tell the receptionist to tell me that she can’t see me. Lol the audacity… like why schedule me for a time that don’t work for you? I would’ve understood had I shown up late but I was on freaking time… And then they had the nerve to try to charge me a $50 missed appointment fee for so called missing my appointment despite me being there on time. I had to call and put on my Karen voice and threaten to report them for fraud just so they wouldn’t charge me. I loved the optometry at this place and thought I found a new but I’ll never come back again because of the lack of professionalism and human decency. If you care about your health and values your time, don’t even bother going there. I’ve always read and brushed off people’s criticisms and no-so stellar reviews of this place but now at the r experiencing one myself, BELIEVE IT!!!

Dr. Alarbi I thought would be efficient but she never replied to my request to discuss my exam results! I had a cyst which she never even addressed!! In addition, someone from the office called me and then hung up on me after I said I couldn’t speak due to work. Unprofessionalism at its finest! I’d rate lower if I could SMH! Needs all new employees or to be permanently closed!!
