*** updated review 2024 We used really enjoy coming here! Had that hometown eye doctor feel. It was easy to get in, easy to get glasses, great selection etc. That's simply not the case anymore. It should not take over a month to get my children in for new exams so she can get new glasses. Especially since we call 2 months ago and they told us it was too early to make the exam appointment. Kids are hard on glasses, The fact that we have to wait over a month for an exam and then another 2 to 4 weeks for the glasses That's crazy, And yes we've had to wait almost a month the last time to get glasses made. Also the office staff struggles to really understand the insurance process I've noticed. They will tell you one thing and then tell you a completely different thing two weeks later. Patients are at the insurance company's Mercy so if you guys don't understand it how are we expected to?

I've been seeing Dr. Sands for a few years now since the eye doctor in my town closed his office. Dr. Sands gives the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. He asks questions and makes adjustments to my prescription as needed. My corrected vision with my glasses is better than 20/20. Unlike one of the other reviews, Dr. Sands readily gave me my written prescription with all of the information needed to order my glasses online. I really appreciate his professionalism and his patient care. His staff is very helpful, too.

This is a great practice. The staff are always accommodating and helpful. They give me the option to make the best choice for me as far as my health and money and concerned. This is the only eye doctor in town. They could very easily get consumed by the "we're the only one in town" attitude but they are always very attentive and have great couple customer service. I highly recommend this place for your vision needs.

The people here are pretty nice, but their business model could be better. They try very hard to be the ones to place your contact order. I get they probably get money off of this, but the lack of integrity on their part is astounding. It’s very difficult to get your prescription. Your options are fax, mail, and pick up. No online/e-mail (either extremely outdated or controlling), and you can’t even get this information over the phone! The pick up option seems inconvenient for most people, so despite living 10 minutes away, I chose the mail option. Somehow, the mail option still took a whole week…then they left information off of my prescription that was crucial to me placing an order with anyone else (base curve). Once I *finally* got this information and *finally* placed my online order somewhere, I was not made aware at any time in the process that the contacts I ordered WERE NOT ALLOWED by this eye doctor!!!! Excuse me?? I have been wearing contacts for TWENTY YEARS and have visited more vision centers than I can count, and I have NEVER had an eye doctor tell me that I can’t order any other brand of contacts other than what HE wanted me to wear??? Absolutely unbelievable. The company I ordered through let me know about this little tid bit after I received the contacts in the mail that I definitely didn’t order. The worst part about this all is I can’t see letters on a keyboard barely a foot away. What an absolute horrific waste of time and money on this place. It’s worth the drive and money to go elsewhere.

Dr. Sands is the best. He has care for us for thr last several years and served our whole family will. Everything for light eye injuries to contacts and glass. We love him and the rest of his wonderful staff.
