I scheduled a preoperative clearance appointment expecting a thorough medical evaluation before surgery. Instead, the entire visit was spent filling out paperwork. After the paperwork was completed, I asked Dr. Williams if she was going to examine my heart, lungs, throat, ears, or perform any physical assessment. Her response was that filling out the paperwork had taken all of the appointment time, so no examination would be done. As a patient preparing for surgery, I left feeling disappointed and concerned. I expected my pre-op appointment to include more than paperwork and to involve at least a basic physical evaluation. I understand that every physician has a different approach, but I did not feel my concerns or expectations for a preoperative clearance were met. I hope this feedback encourages the practice to allow enough time for both the required paperwork and an appropriate medical assessment so future patients leave feeling confident they have been properly evaluated before surgery.

I had one of the most terrifying experiences I’ve ever had because of this office. Someone entered a cancer diagnosis into my MyChart by mistake. I didn’t log in for about two months, and when I finally did, I saw that diagnosis and immediately thought I had cancer. The panic, stress, and anxiety this caused me and my family are hard to put into words. When I called the office, no one seemed to know what had happened or how to explain it. It took another two days before they finally admitted that the diagnosis had been entered in error. A mistake like this is completely unacceptable. Medical records are not something to handle carelessly. An incorrect cancer diagnosis can cause severe emotional distress and undermine a patient’s trust in the healthcare system. I sincerely hope they improve their procedures so no one else has to go through what I did. I cannot recommend this practice based on my experience.

Finding a new primary care doctor has been a chore at best and leaps of faith at worst, so I cannot say enough good things about my experience with West Cecil Health Center. Dr. Stephanie Coen was absolutely wonderful. She was thoughtful, attentive, easy to talk to, and made me feel truly heard — which, these days, goes a long way. You can tell she cares about her patients and about getting things right. Araceli was equally terrific and helped make the whole experience feel smooth, welcoming, and personal. In a world where so many things feel rushed and impersonal, this was the exact opposite. I left feeling relieved, grateful, and genuinely welcomed. Thank you!
