I love Dr. Kerry Garwood so much that I schedule an appointment with her every year when I fly in from Alaska! I have a very high prescription in both contacts and glasses, and glasses often make me feel dizzy—like I’m living in a fishbowl. She worked diligently to help find the best solution for my glasses and took the time to truly understand my concerns. I also tend to struggle with medical anxiety, and her warm, calming demeanor always helps me feel completely at ease. She’s fun, friendly, communicates everything clearly, and gives thoughtful options without ever making me feel pressured. I trust her so much that I recently encouraged my parent to become patients as well. Highly recommend!

had my appointment this Wednesday June 10th 2026 with Dr. Heck. I wanted to make sure my left eye was healthy because I have been having headaches and also wanted to see if I may need eye corrective surgery. While Dr. Heck was doing the testing on my left eye which is my bad eye. It was really hard for me to see the letters from the distance she had it. I also at times would have a really hard time picking which slide was clear or not because I literally can not see well from that eye. I would tell her which one was clear or not and it felt like she started to become irritated because I was choosing the ones she felt should be clear. She literally stopped flung her arms down in aggravation and explained how I should be doing the test. I understood the first time and was doing that but if its not clear or if its blurred to ME I'm going to tell the truth. When I spoke to her about the pain and other concerns that I had she seemed to brush them off and blame it on because I'm in my 40s. Then proceeded to continuously bring up her problems because she's 48. First of all I've been blessed to not have to say Oh this is happening to me since I've turned 40. Everything I spoke to her about I've been dealing with since I was a child with my lazy left eye. She would cut me off when I would try to speak. After a while I just stopped talking. When we walked out of the room she went to the front desk. I was behind her taking a seat in the waiting area right next to the front desk where they walk in and out. She didn't notice where I sat or I'm sure she wouldn't had went to the tall lady that had glasses with salt and pepper hair complaining to her that she had to repeatedly ask me which one and to just pick one already. The salt and pepper haired woman took me over to where I was supposed to look at glass however I told her that I just wanted to leave. Very humiliating. It seems that Dr. Heck doesn't have patience and I really hope she doesn't treat children the way that she did me. Thumbs down never ever coming back here. I'd give no stars if I was able to do so.
I do not recommend Dr. Heck at ABBA Eye care on Woodman. I have been there twice in the past week to dial in my prescription and start wearing contacts. My initial appointment I expressed that the contacts made my eyes dry and that my vision was still blurry, I was told to try it out and come back if I still felt this way. I went back in and this appointment was extremely disappointing. They made me put in the bad contacts again. I expressed the same concerns and the doctor said “there is only so much I can do”. Not a helpful response from a doctor who hasn’t even tried anything else. My husband steps in to help ask questions and come up with a plan and this must have rubbed her the wrong way because she was extremely rude to him acting like she couldn’t possibly be wrong. She did not allow me to advocate for myself and then was very rude when my husband tried to advocate for me. She finally did what my husband suggested (he’s been wearing contacts a long time and has some experience choosing the right brand and prescription) and the those contacts were much better. Now I could see better but the contacts were quite uncomfortable. I gave it a few hours to see if they would settle onto my eye but it only got worse so I called and asked if I can try a certain brand that is marketed to be comfortable with astigmatism and was told no for absolutely no reason. She said to dial in my sight first but if a contact makes your eyes dry and blurry how can you do that? She just didn’t want to help any further is what it felt like to me. I rarely feel the need to write a review but the interactions she had with my husband who was very nice in his demeanor sealed the deal for me to express my experience. Overall, I don’t know if it’s an ego thing or what, but you don’t have any control over your own care with her. Very rude if you try to express opposing thoughts and make you feel like you can’t be honest and ask questions. I have never seen a doctor be so rude to my husband for trying to help me get the right care. Contacts are very expensive, it’s important to get what is right for you and she does not help make that process easy at all. The rest of the staff was very kind but Dr. Heck made me feel very uncomfortable.
I am a new customer and at ABBA and I had the pleasure to work with Trinity during my visit. She is very knowledgeable and provided amazing customer service while I was there. I wanted to let her supervisor know she is doing an amazing job!
We've been seen by Dr Heck for several years. I have an autoimmune disease that affects my vision and she was able to provide me with prescription for glasses to address this. She and the staff are always friendly and professional. The sales staff aren't pushy.
