My family was discriminated against by the Lindenhurst managers Patty & Paloma. I tried several times to reach out to speak to the managers at the Lindenhurst location about it I was refused any communication to resolve the matter from Patty and Paloma in the Lindenhurst location which is what Kim told me. Everytime I talked to Kim I was never disrespectful or argumentive and neither was she towards me she was very apologetic about the confusion but stated it was Patty and Paloma who made the decision and did not want to talk to me at all. We had not visited any AccuVision locations since 2019 until recently, May 2026, where one of my daughters was able to receive service in the Gurnee location before the supposed incident happened with that other family in Lindenhurst. When my other daughter tried making an appointment we were informed by the manager, Kim, at the Gurnee location, (who was just as confused as I was but was professional and helpful throughout our conversation) , that my family had been blocked from receiving services. Kim told me that an incident had occurred involving another family at the Lindenhurst location and that managers Patty and Paloma believed my family was connected to that individual because we share similar last names. According to the information provided to me, the decision was made to block my family despite uncertainty regarding whether we were actually related to the individual involved or had any involvement. What is most concerning is that after I provided my information and my children's information, the records confirmed that we were not the family involved in the incident. Despite this verification, I was informed that the block would remain in place. I was further told that the managers at the Lindenhurst location refused to speak with me regarding the matter and would not reconsider their decision, regardless of whether my family was connected to the individual in question. I find it unacceptable that my family has been denied services based solely on a last name and assumptions regarding our relationship to another person. We were never involved in the reported incident, and my family was incorrectly identified. Continuing to block my family after acknowledging that we were the wrong family raises serious concerns about fairness, professionalism, and the accuracy of Patty and Paloma's decision-making process. Reply: All the safety talk is understandable but again you and your team lack professionalism and displayed discrimination against any African American family with the similar last name as the individuals that were involved in the incident. To clear things up again, my family or I was NEVER involved in any incidents in any of the locations.

Dr. Richard Yang was extremely unpleasant. Patients don't live in the world of optometry or even the medical field. I understand scolding a patient once for not filling out the pre-exam form to specifications. But to scold me upwards of 5 times is unacceptable. To verbalize your displeasure and complain that you have to leave your work day at a certain time and I'm getting in the way of that. It's so unprofessional to complain about a tight schedule to a patient. I really considered walking out but I just wanted to get through it. DR YANG also speaks in a judgemental way about over the counter fish oil and re-wetting drops. He didn't just insinuate, he stated that it's a waste of time to use normal commercial fish oil and if I don't use this high end fish oil I might as well use nothing. Tone deaf and rude. When my trials came in, I came in and was told when I scheduled the appointment that I'd be with a different Dr than Dr Yang, she said he wasn't available until the 2nd week of june. At the appointment for the trial fitting Dr Yang took me anyways. I made the mistake of asking him a question. I asked if I could use re-wetting drops with my contacts. I stated that I use "Re-Nu" drops. He either didn't hear me or ignored it and said he couldn't possibly answer the question because he doesn't know what drops I use. He asked if I got the drops he recommended. Very expensive drops. I said no, I couldn't afford them right now. Dr Yang replies in that scolding tone, "then how can I know if you should use your drops or not. I don't know what's in them. They're probably cheap drops, right? Cheap drops have preservatives. So no, you shouldn't use your drops probably because they have preservatives, but again, I can't know because you aren't using the drops I recommended." I left with no prescription in hand. Went to my car. Came back and asked if I get a physical copy and they said they could print it or email it. I had it emailed. I went to Rosin Eyecare in Glenview, had them re-do my exam. They changed my entire prescription for both eyes. They repeatedly told me it was not legal to let me leave without a physical copy of my prescription. They kept saying AccuVision legally has to provide the patient with a physical copy of the contact or glasses prescription. DR YANG cares about the wrong type of standards. The place itself looks stunning, very high end. Well kept, women all in high heels, every lightbulb worked. Every glass surface and mirror spotless but Jesus, Dr Yang was so miserably rude and unpleasant. He over corrected my left eye astigmatism and Rosin said because of that, I would always feel my left contact. They fixed it. I am telling everyone I can about my experience. What a miserable man. The sole reason I will never come back is Dr Yang and the way he speaks to people.

I had an excellent experience at this eye doctor’s office from start to finish. The entire team made my visit incredibly smooth and comfortable. Lexi greeted me as soon as I walked in with a warm smile and helped get me checked in quickly. Paloma and Jen were both wonderfully attentive during the pre-exam process—thorough, patient, and happy to answer any questions I had. During my exam, the doctor was professional, clear, and genuinely invested in my eye health. I never felt rushed, and everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand. Afterward, Lupe and Lote assisted me with picking out new frames, and they were fantastic—honest, helpful, and great at offering suggestions that fit both my style and needs. Karina wrapped things up by helping with insurance details and scheduling, and she was friendly and efficient. Overall, this office has an amazing team. Everyone—from Lexi at the front desk to Karina on the way out—made my visit feel personal and stress-free. I highly recommend them!

My husband and I went in to the Lindenhurst Accuvision for eye exams and to purchase new glasses. We had Lexi assist us. She was very efficient and friendly. It was a joy to be working with her.
