Avoid Advances in Vision — A Frustrating Experience Advances in Vision has been the worst place I’ve ever visited for eye care. I had my first appointment at the end of May 2025, and to this day, I still haven’t received my glasses. Despite this, they charged my insurance around $1,100 and billed me an additional $500 out of pocket. After the initial eye exam, they called me back once the glasses arrived from the lab. But the prescription was completely off — the glasses made my vision worse than without them. They performed a second exam and sent the new prescription to the lab again, only for the same issue to happen. Then came a third exam and another lab order. After waiting four more weeks, they called to tell me they had lost my glasses. Initially, they offered to refund only 50% of what I paid. After speaking with the manager, they agreed to refund me in full and reverse the insurance claim so I could use my benefits elsewhere. However, it took multiple calls with my insurance provider to confirm everything was properly reset. I strongly advise against going there unless you’re looking for poor service, wasted time, and a major headache.
