I came in for an appointment with Dr. Hoch so he could evaluate my wrist injury and refer me for an X-ray. I had to wait for an hour and a half to be seen. When I asked the front desk about it, the manager tried to distract me by bringing me to the allergist’s room for an allergy test that I did not want or need. They then tried to transfer me to a different doctor, and a nurse took my blood pressure and got all of my information and sent me back into the waiting room. I was called into a different room where a different nurse took my blood pressure and I was very confused. There’s clearly a lack of communication within the office. Before even looking at my wrist, Dr. Hoch insisted on ordering a pregnancy test for me as an x-ray precaution. While I appreciate the thought, I explained that I’m positive I’m not pregnant because I was currently on my period. For some reason that wasn’t enough proof for him. I also didn’t need to pee, so he then walked me to a water fountain and handed me 3 cups of water. He walked me to the bathroom and stood outside the door while I desperately tried to pee in a cup. He knocked on the door twice, every minute or so to ask if I was okay. This put even more pressure on me when I genuinely couldn’t pee, was already late for work because of how far behind they were, and again I didn’t even need the pregnancy test in the first place. I would understand if they were x-raying my pelvis or something, but this was my wrist, so it felt very unnecessary. I gave up and came out empty-handed. They put me back in the room where my blood pressure was taken the second time, but there was another patient in there now. We awkwardly looked at each other and were both very confused. I told the doctor and the very rude nurse that I needed to go and I left. I went in for a wrist sprain and came out with an allergy test and pregnancy test, neither of which I wanted nor needed, and my wrist was not addressed at all. I had to go to urgent care a couple of days later and I’m very frustrated with the lack of care that I received.

This was my daughter’s first eye exam. She is 3 years old and was a little scared going in. By the time we left she was loving life, and the next day wanted to go back for more. Dr. Borukhov and staff were very nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to others to come.
I took my 5 yr old here.I used to go in 2025..they updated the look.Took out the fish tank but The cool waterfall looks good.I got a Nice gentleman to attend us with my son's evaluation, he was very understanding.I would recommend Ahava Medical to anyone for their therapist needs.
When this site opened they were good & gave good service but I went recently for two separate reasons & I was very dissatisfied. Orthopedic dept. did nothing at all while I had joint pain but send me to Bay Parkway whom they always recommend because somehow they do each other favors & send the business to them. I live in Bushwick why would I go all the way down there also no referral to go elsewhere. I needed to go to my PCP for a referral after I found a doctor in Brooklyn hospital that offers the same procedure a few days later. Also the neurologist dept. smelled very bad for the over 3 hours sitting there. You go early for your spot, to get out in time to go to work & they put someone that came after you ahead & leave you 35 mins. In the room for another 30 mins. Procedure. 3 1/2 hours total I made it to work late. I need to finish with them since they already started what I need done but I will not be going back to Ahava nor will I recommend anyone I know to go. When they renovated & made the building look good, they look bad!!
I recently took my mother to her appointment at the Neurology Department at Ahava Medical Center, and I wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, the front desk staff in the main lobby was very rude and unprofessional, which made the visit start off on the wrong foot. However, once we arrived at the Neurology Department, we met a young lady named Veronica who completely changed our experience. She was extremely kind, professional, patient, and welcoming. She greeted everyone with a smile and treated not only my mother and I with respect, but every patient that came through the department. You can truly tell she cares about people and takes pride in her work. She also works on the 3rd floor, and honestly, she should be front and center representing this location because her customer service was outstanding. Thank you, Veronica, for making patients feel comfortable and respected.
