I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses in Albany, Georgia, was extremely disappointing. Before my appointment, I completed all of my paperwork online, including correctly entering my name and personal information. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked to complete a simple consent form with highlighted fields. The form only required basic information, including my name and signature. Unfortunately, an employee manually entered my information incorrectly. When I heard my name called as "Alvin," I immediately asked if they meant "Alan." It turned out my name had been entered incorrectly, creating problems with my entire record. As a result, I spent over 2.45 hours waiting, only to find out that I would not be able to see the doctor (which is a virtual visit and not advertised that way). All I needed was an updated prescription so I could purchase prescription lenses for my Meta glasses. What disappointed me most wasn't just the mistake, it was how it was handled. No one truly accepted responsibility or attempted to meaningfully resolve the situation. There seemed to be more excuses than solutions. In any customer-focused business, there should be a process to escalate an issue and make things right for someone whose appointment was disrupted because of an internal error. Even after I explained that I would not be returning if I couldn't be seen that day, the only solution offered was to schedule another appointment. After already investing more than two and a half hours because of an error I didn't make, that was simply not an acceptable resolution. I have never written a review like this about any company, but I believe others should know about my experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location based on how my appointment and the subsequent customer service were handled.
