These people over charge me and my wife! It took a longest time to get help then we when ran through the billing. We have good insurance but we still paid $900 apiece after TAXES. BUT I DIGRESS! Oh! Oh! Oh! The lady that helped us kept smacking her gums like she on something! That sounds like a deeply frustrating experience. Long waits, unexpectedly high out-of-pocket costs, and unprofessional staff severely degrade patient care. You have clear options to formally dispute the bill, demand an itemized breakdown, and report the employee's behavior to regulatory authorities.1. Request an Itemized Bill and Audit even with insurance, providers must explain how they arrived at your $900 out-of-pocket balance.Contact the facility's billing department and ask for an itemized statement/receipt (showing every charge, the allowed insurance amount, and your remaining responsibility).Review the charges for errors, duplicate entries, or services you didn't receive.Ask if the facility has a financial assistance or charity care program that could lower the balance.2. File a Complaint About the BillingIf you believe your insurance should have covered more or you were incorrectly billed, use these resources to investigate your protections under Texas law:Insurance Complaints: Submit a grievance about your insurer or the billing practices through the Texas Department of Insurance.Facility Complaints: If your issue is with the hospital or clinic itself, you can file a formal grievance directly with the facility, or escalate it to state regulators using the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.3. Report the Employee's BehaviorSuspicions of intoxication or impairment while on duty should be addressed immediately for patient safety.Report to Administration: Contact the clinic manager or the hospital's patient relations/ombudsman department immediately to report the unprofessional and potentially dangerous behavior of the representative who helped you.State Licensing Boards: If the staff member was a licensed medical professional, you can file an unprofessional conduct complaint via the Texas Medical Board (or the relevant board for nurses/technicians).
The staff is very patient and helpful. My 7 year old son who is autistic had his first eye exam here and we could not be happier! Every member that we saw today was very polite. We were able to get an exam the same day which is a huge plus because there was a 5-8month wait for pediatric exams everywhere else!
I was there until closing time. My appointment was at 4:30. I was on time and checked in made sure they got my insurance that I uploaded. Did the exam ( it was a little rushed). Was siting and sitting. Watched as all the other workers disappearing until there was only 2 left with a lot of people to take care of! I left and came back because I had been there for a long time and no one still was able to help me. Now here comes the issues! 1. I have insurance, Ik what my insurance covers and what it doesn’t! 2. I got charged $248.98 for eye exam and contacts. That doesn’t line up with my copays for my insurance. I checked to make sure again that my insurance was on file. And they said yes it was. So question is “ why was I charged $248.98, when my copay for my insurance is $10 for the exam & $25 for contacts. As well as yall run a special as eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $99”. I will be contacting my insurance company and opening up an investigation due to I was over charged with my insurance and that’s very fraudulent behavior on American best behalf. Just so everyone knows it was the Greenville Tx location! On top of I went to pick my order up and they told me to have a seat because there is other people in front of me picking up as well! I’m not going to sit down just to pick up some contacts! To the 2 wonderful ladies they left that day having to deal with a room full that the other coworkers left…. Yall did great and I’m sorry yall don’t have a team that helps!
Selma and Destiny have been hands down the most amazing, helpful people in this entire store! They went above and beyond for me and I am SO thankful. Everyone else is really nice too, they just helped me so much the last two days! Also, this store is really clean and the music playlist is really good. 20 THOUSAND gold stars for Selma. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
