America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

My daughter and I eyes have been cared for at this location for some yrs now and every time we visit the appt is usually pleasant. Recently I had an appointment for my daughter and it was BEYOND pleasant, it was phenomenal! We were greeted and helped from beginning to end by the new manager Erica, which was such a breath of fresh air and made us feel right at home. She went above and beyond to make sure my daughter's visit was worthwhile and I truly appreciate it wholeheartedly, she's an ANGEL!! We left there after about a hr feeling blessed and that's more than I could've asked. Staff was so welcoming, office was clean and neat, and the overall customer service deserves an A++!

I’ve gone to America’s Best for years, but after this experience, I won’t be going back. I had a scheduled appointment on 7/3 and ended up being there for hours because they were running so far behind. After second guessing the charges on my receipt, I finally contacted my insurance and found out America’s Best is actually out of network. While they advertise that they “work with most insurance providers,” they won’t tell you whether they’re in or out of network. Part of that is on me for assuming that because they accepted my insurance, they were in network, and for not verifying it myself. But I also feel that should be clearly communicated instead of leaving customers to find out after the fact. To top it off, I found out my contacts were ready three weeks ago, but no one ever notified me. They claimed they send a request for a call, but they already know those calls don’t leave voicemails. I checked my phone records through my carrier, and there was never a call made to my number at all, not just from their # but no calls received from and 888/800 # the days past when they advised my items came in. Overall, it’s been an incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish.

This is my 4th time at an Americas best and my last. I’ve always had incredible service but today I drove 1.5 hrs for this appt only to find out that there wasn’t a Dr in the building and was never informed. It was a virtual visit. I had trouble with part of the exam and I was told “ I’m not there, I can’t see what you see”. No kidding maybe you should be. I was told it was on the website and I looked it is not. I was also told I would be given a list of retinal drs in my area. I got one in Virginia but I live in NC. Never again!

The staff here is okay, HOWEVER, they are ALWAYS slow and disrespectful of time. This location is best for me but consistently waiting an hour or more beyond my appointment time is unacceptable. It would be one thing if this was a one or two off. It's EVERY TIME! Please understand that your patients have other things to do aside from waiting in the lobby. I ask that you do better. I’m sure if you have an entire day to get your eyes checked this place would be fine. Took over 3.5 hours for a basic eye exam. They could care less about your time. What’s the point of scheduling an appointment. Grabbed my prescription and left. Will never be back.
