**By reading these other reviews apparently I'm not the only one with issues with the staff- and they are just as important as the doctor. I hear Dr. Lotz is very kind. But he needs to get someone better on the phones and front desk. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago. While on the phone the lady who took my information down asked for my insurance information. I told her that I no longer had my card but I would get the information needed prior to the appointment. I acquired a photo copy of the card from my physician. I was contacted the day before my appointment to verify my appointment, I explained at that time that I had acquired the information they had requested. She stated that they had already verified my information with the insurance company but would not accept a photocopy of the card and they proceeded to cancel my appointment. I called back and told them that the original person who took my info was aware of this and that they insurance company had also told me that they didn't do cards anymore because everything is done through an app now. This is an eye doctor- its not a GP which is something we need on a regular basis for even just check ups. A lot of times when we call its because the situation is serious enough that it is necessary to contact them. For example I have been getting severe headaches to migraine levels which is most likely due to me needing corrective lens to help my eyes as well wanting to be able to see better again. These people dont care about their patients at all. I would never recommend them to anyone. Not to mention whoever the "lady" was that called me was quite rude. Her tone was very dismissive.

Today is June 9, I scheduled an appointment for my elderly mom in April. The office was made aware my mom does not live in Virginia. Arrived at the appointment and they refused to accept a copy of my mom insurance card. I asked if I could email the copy of both front and back with her id so they can have it and they refuse. Claiming they need to scan it in and I was offering a solution to email it. The lady at the front desk was intentionally being mean and evil spirited. I traveled over an hour to for my mom not be seen. I run successful businesses that require insurances and I know for a fact she could have a copy of both identifications. Being mean and nasty get you but so far.

I started seeing dr.lotz about six years ago.I had been going to America's best.I was on the job and got a piece of metal in my eye.I searched for the closest optometrist to my location at the time and it happened to be Dr.Lotz's office. So I called and his receptionist told me to come up and they would attempt to work me in.I was expecting to have to wait my turn.Well as soon as I walked in(he had a waiting room full of patients) they pulled me back straight away and Dr.Lotz fixed me up.That made a great impression on me so from that moment forward I made Dr.Lotz my eye doctor and don't regret it one bit.Best eye doctor I've ever had and his staff is great too!

Update: Does not appear this review was read by the stores location. After looking up the frames I purchased, I found out the glasses come with case and premium cleaning cloth. However, when I picked up my glasses I received the case but no cleaning cloth. When I asked, I was told I would have to purchase one, not knowing one was supposed to come with. Now thinking this is an underhand way of charging customers more money. (Took another star off for this) ORIGINAL Post: Overall, a good experience. Good selection of glasses. My biggest disappointment was when I picked up my glasses. I’m used to having a microfiber included to help with keeping the lenses scratch free. When I asked about a microfiber and they said they have them for three dollars. So I paid the three dollars for the microfiber. Come to find out the microfiber has their advertising on it. My personal opinion is if you’re going to have your advertising on a microfiber, they should come with the purchase of new glasses. Slightly feels like they nickel and dime their customers.

Highly recommend! Came in to have my Maui Jim sunglasses adjusted and the super friendly staff they took care of me as soon as I walked in, Best of all when I asked how much I owed them the assistant simply says....Just a smile is enough!
