I have been going here for the past 4 years for both contact lens exams and eyeglasses exams and received excellent care along with customer service. HOWEVER, this has been the first time that my exam was so short, which didn't sit right with me. I'm pretty sure I only got the contacts exam because anyone who has taken the exam will know its a bit more extensive. After waiting a little over an hour after my exams, I finally get called and the older woman assisting me asked if I picked out some frames. I told her that I wasn't getting it this time and that I would still like my prescription. Usually, they still take my dimensions for my frames and note it down, but this didn't happen. I also wanted to clarify whether I actually had the eyeglasses exam because it was too short of an exam and she started stating what was covered by insurance and what I had to pay out of pocket. I repeated myself two more times and she still went on about the same thing! That was NOT my concern! I get that it was busy, but I waited long and I had my toddler. It seems like the only thing that was her concern was my payment and getting me out of the way! I will be going elsewhere next time and I definitely won't be coming back here for my eyeglasses..

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I arrived just one minute past the 10-minute grace period and was refused service. Instead of showing any understanding or flexibility, my appointment was canceled. As a 32-week pregnant, hardworking mom and military spouse, I took time off work and made every effort to get to this appointment, only to be turned away over one minute. Life happens, and I would have expected a little compassion, especially from a healthcare office. This experience felt incredibly unprofessional and far from family-oriented. Policies are important, but so is treating patients with empathy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate that a Mama couldn't get glasses or contacts and treat herself the one day she took time off for herself.
Made appointment on line along with pre-check in. Arrived 5 min ahead of time, the receptionist (a young girl) checked me in and instructed me to sit in the waiting area. Three people that had arrived after me, was seen before me. It’s now an hour later after I checked in, so I went to the front desk to ask. A lady was starting to check, but then someone came and she started conversing with that person so I’m just standing there. Once they were done, she went to the same young girl that checked me in and evidently never printed out my papers for them to call me. She then printed them out and put them in a folder for me to be called in. No apology, nothing, like it was my fault! Customer service is critical when it comes to a business and if it is poor, best believe customers will go elsewhere to find the respect and attention they want esp when spending hard earned money with them. I always have some kind of issue when I come here, they make you feel like you are bothering them! The doctor (a guy) was very pleasant and professional and the only reason why I came back to this location. Unfortunately after spending almost $600, I will be going elsewhere.
Whew. Story time. I’d like to preface this by saying I’ve been going to Americas Best since I was 18.. I’m 31 now. I went in March for an eyeglass exam/contacts exam. I explained that I had had issues in the past with my contacts making my eyes feel dry… They insisted that for my contacts I should come back in a few weeks and pick up some trials. I picked up my trials and was told to try them out for a week and let them know how they feel (very nonchalant.) Granted, I took longer than a week they and were monthlies. I used them for a month or so on and off between my glasses. I understand that this was longer than I intentionally was supposed to use them, but I did. When I called to tell them I wanted to order my monthlies. I was told that since I didn’t get back to them within the week that I would need to schedule an entirely new contact eye exam. Mind you, this was never stressed to me that it was a deadline to get back to them and that if I did not get back to them, I would have to pay for an entire new exam. Contact prescriptions are good for a year. I’m not understanding how or why I couldn’t confirm my prescription when I called them. As I had just gotten glasses. Not to mention, the girl on the phone had an attitude and was trying to talk to me like I was stupid. When in reality, I’ve talked to multiple other eyeglass doctors and they said this is absolutely, ridiculously insane. The girl on the phone told me “since you didn’t confirm your prescription within a week we would have to do an entire new exam…” I’m like “how is that even a thing if I’m telling you now that it is good it’s within a year. How is it too late? It’s the same prescription anyways for my new contact exam.” I scheduled an appointment with “MyEyeDr.” and they were absolutely terrific. They were kind and they didn’t act like they were holding your prescription hostage. I feel like America’s Best does not care about their patients and only cares about how much money they can get out of them. I even reached out to their customer service online and no one got back to me. It’s been probably three weeks. I’ve switched and I’ll never go back and I’ve told about 10 people to never go there again and my story and everybody thinks this is absolutely insane.
I had a very disappointing experience with Josh while trying to purchase glasses for my child for the a first-time. Instead of receiving guidance or patience, I was met with dismissive behavior and a noticeable lack of professionalism. Joshua seemed irritated by basic questions and made the experience unnecessarily stressful. There was no effort to explain the process in a way that felt supportive or welcoming to a parent navigating this for the first time. Additionally, the overall presentation and hygiene of the staff and environment raised concerns and did not reflect the level of care I would expect in a setting that works closely with children and families. Customer service requires patience, respect, and clear communication—especially when working with parents and kids. Unfortunately, this experience fell short in all of those areas. I would recommend this location but I would recommend Joshua / Josh to other parents seeking a positive or supportive experience for their child. I wish I would have spoke up for myself, my child, and the overall experience.
