I scheduled an appointment for lenses & contacts. Dr Muhammad Sohawon spent less than 5min with me during my exam and made me feel incredibly rushed. He asked no questions about contact preference, lifestyle, etc to determine my contact lens options. I asked if I needed a follow up appointment after receiving my trial contact lenses and was told by front desk staff member Akillah that it “wasn’t necessary” and I should “only call back if they don’t work out” for me. As a first time contacts user, I am disappointed, because that’s not what the website suggests I should expect from an America’s Best exam. I am left feeling confused why I was charged more money for a contact lens exam that wasn’t any different from a regular eyeglasses exam. In fact, the eyeglasses exam was worse than every other practice I’ve been to. There was also trash all over the floor. Three employees yelling about staff call outs and cursing when I checked in. Technician had me turn the light switch on/off for her during my exam as well. I feel like I got scammed. Frankly, I am not interested in receiving my trial lenses & would prefer a refund to take my money to a practice that instills more confidence in every regard.

Great work environment. I came in on a Saturday & was greeted by every Associate working this day. They were funny, welcoming, and friendly. The service was quick and the Doctor was very informative with my eye exam update. I always liked this location due to the area (tons of shopping) and the service. They have a huge parking lot. This area is very clean and well organized. I love they have the buy 2 for $89 deal. Very good option since I get 2 pair a year!!! I had no issues with my appointment and or pick up even with the delay due to snow storm. Very good store overall. The ladies were very great!
I had a great experience at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. The staff was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I was also impressed by the advanced equipment and technology they use for the eye exams—it definitely made the experience feel thorough and up to date. The only thing I noticed was that there was only one young lady working the front desk first thing in the morning, while several customers were coming in and the phone was constantly ringing. That seemed like a lot for one person to handle at once. Despite being extremely busy, she handled everything very well and remained professional and courteous the entire time. I definitely think having an additional person helping her at the front desk would make things run even more smoothly. Overall, I had a very nice experience and was impressed with the knowledgeable staff, professionalism, and equipment. I would definitely recommend this location!
I had a 9:20 a.m. appointment at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses on Sheila Lane in Richmond. Since they had just opened, I expected a smooth experience. After checking in, I was directed to the back waiting area where I sat alone for about 20 minutes. I could hear staff in the offices, but no one came out to acknowledge me or provide an update. A simple “We’ll be with you shortly” would have gone a long way. The doctor was very professional, informative, and pleasant — I truly appreciated that part of my visit. Unfortunately, my checkout experience overshadowed everything. The Assistant Manager, Victoria, was extremely rude and dismissive. Every question I asked was met with snapping responses, as if I should have already known the answers. When I calmly addressed her behavior and asked why she was responding that way, her attitude became even more hostile. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect. Professionalism should not stop at the exam room door. I would appreciate corporate reviewing this location’s customer service practices. I would like to be contacted regarding this experience.
I had such a pleasant experience at the Sheila locating. Janae and Mike treated my care and kindness. There customer service is unmatched I will be back.
