I was a little hesitant to go to an optometrist inside Walmart after the Costco Optometrist not working out well, but Dr Nguyen was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She’s now the family Optometrist for my husband and children as well. When I wanted to try eye color changing soft contact lenses she gave me a couple of different options to see which I liked best before purchasing. Super sweet!

Dr. Andrea Nguyen’s vision center refused to sell me a single contact lens even though I explained that I am blind in one eye without it. I was told they do not carry my prescription on hand and that it would take about a week for contacts to come in. No temporary solution was offered, no emergency accommodation, and no flexibility — just a flat refusal. Being left unable to see properly for a week is not a minor inconvenience; it affects daily life and safety. I understand inventory limitations, but a medical vision practice should show basic compassion and problem-solving, especially when a patient explains they are functionally blind without a contact. Very disappointing experience.

Despite being pre-approved and providing all necessary insurance documentation, we were still hit with unexpected charges. The billing process was disorganized and frustrating, with little accountability or clear explanation. Even after my vision provider confirmed that Dr. Nguyen was in-network and then contacted her, she refused to cancel a same-day charge and rebill it correctly. Very disappointing experience—we won’t be returning.
