I had a very disappointing experience with this office regarding contact lens training.
I told them upfront that I wanted to switch to contact lenses but was afraid to touch my eyes. I was told they offered a 3-day contact lens training for $250, which I agreed to and paid for.
The first two training sessions lasted about 20 minutes each and consisted of a receptionist sitting across from me, telling me where to place my fingers. After I was still unable to insert the lenses on the second visit, I was told to go home, practice on my own, and come back for the third session once I had already learned how to do it myself. That completely defeated the purpose of paying for training.
When I called to discuss my concerns, I was first told the fee was for the doctor's services. After I pointed out that my receipt showed I had actually paid $420, I was then told the $250 was for the training and that because I wasn't successful, it wasn't their responsibility. The explanation changed, and I still never received a clear breakdown of what I was charged for.
I requested a partial refund because I don't believe I received the training that was promised. Instead, I was told their services are "not à la carte," even though I wasn't asking to pay for individual services—I was asking to be treated fairly after paying for training that was never fully provided.
I understand that learning to wear contact lenses can be challenging and that not everyone succeeds right away. My disappointment isn't that I struggled; it's that I paid for professional instruction and was ultimately told to go home and teach myself.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office for first-time contact lens wearers who need patient, hands-on guidance.
