My honest and concerned review: Dr. Armesto, my cornea specialist, is wonderful. I've been with him for 20+ years. This practice used to be THE place to go for care. The current office staff has been friendly and caring, but unfortunately there continues to be significant staff turnovers since OCLI took over. The staff is often frustrated and in survival mode, and I have had a few issues with new/under-trained staff the past 2-3 years. Last year I moved to another practice for my regular eye exams and glasses. There are just not enough doctors to see the number of patients they are scheduling. (Dr. Armesto is now part-time.) The wait between getting checked in and seeing the doctor is WAY too long! An hour+ wait is not unsual. I was "fit into the schedule" several times recently, and have been there for 2+ hours for a few visits. I honestly wouldn't be a patient if I didn't trust Dr. Armesto's knowledge and care for my corneas.

Well I will never go back!. I had an appt Monday and was seen for diabetes and a refraction for glasses which I was told would be covered as long as I was there for other health reasons and not just a refraction for glasses, otherwise is $50.00. I get there, taken back and girl says this will be $50.00 and I told her no that I was told different by 2 other girls so she left, came back and said ok. So she puts the machine in front of me clicking the lenses,” better in 1or 2 over and over while looking at letters, almost all from right eye I can barely see due to optic nerve damage which I discussed with her. She explained she was having a hard time. Well afterwards I go to another room to briefly see the Dr. for maybe 5 minutes total and that conversation was to let me know that insurance would pay for surgery to straighten right eye?, I’m here for diabetes and eyeglass reading?. Well he says I need to quickly schedule for measurement for surgery to be set up and well?. Next day I call them back to explain the vision center was uneasy with their numbers to make the lenses and asked me to call to verify, they told me to come in in an hour, so 1/2 hr ride I’m there and the girl that tested me takes me back to same room for refraction test and was very defensive and rude, even after I gave her a $20.00 tip because I felt bad for her. Any way she was so rude and defensive, she didn’t even try to retest to check the numbers instead she said she was the best person in the office to do refraction tests and that Dr. Kruwleski refused to change the numbers asking me don’t I remember how she came to some number?, which I told her I didn’t and bc again rude, even as I asked if they would stand by the numbers seeing I have optic nerve damage in right eye, which cannot be corrected. Please don’t trouble yourself and allow them to scam you and try to humiliate you. Hell I gave them a good review right after leaving as they sent me an email. I had to edit it next day so trust the reviews.

DO NOT GO HERE! PROTECT YOUR EYE HEALTH. Misdiagnosis and extreme lack of care. I believe it's important to leave honest reviews, especially when a medical experience has the potential to affect someone's health. Unfortunately, my experience at this office was extremely disappointing and could have had serious consequences for my vision. I went to this office because I had severe eye pain that had been progressively getting worse, along with redness. By the time of my appointment, I was in significant pain and was worried something was seriously wrong. Unfortunately, my experience started poorly from the moment I arrived. The front desk staff ignored me for several minutes. When I was finally helped, the receptionist seemed distracted and was multitasking the entire time instead of giving me her full attention. The delays continued throughout my visit. The technician who was supposed to bring me back spent time talking with coworkers while I waited, despite my obvious discomfort. Once I was finally in the exam room, she spent a considerable amount of time talking about unrelated personal matters instead of focusing on my symptoms so I could be seen by the doctor. I was then sent to another waiting area, where I again waited while staff chatted with one another before I was called back. The most disappointing part of my visit was the doctor's evaluation. Dr. Krulewski spent what felt like only a couple of minutes with me. He barely listened as I described my symptoms, performed only a very brief examination, and quickly diagnosed me with pink eye. I was confused because my symptoms didn't seem consistent with conjunctivitis. As he was leaving the room, I actually had to stop him so I could ask additional questions. He appeared rushed and uninterested in discussing my concerns. I was prescribed antibiotic eye drops and instructed to use them for one week. I followed those instructions exactly. However, shortly after finishing the medication, my eye pain returned. At that point, I sought a second opinion from another eye doctor. I was told that I never had pink eye. My actual diagnosis was uveitis, an inflammatory eye condition that requires completely different treatment. The second doctor explained that I should have begun the appropriate treatment about two weeks earlier. Left untreated, uveitis can potentially lead to permanent vision complications. Needless to say, learning that my condition had been misdiagnosed was both frightening and frustrating. I trusted this office to properly evaluate a painful eye condition, and instead I lost valuable time before receiving the correct treatment. One additional observation that concerned me was hearing another patient in the waiting room express worries that she may have developed an eye infection after a previous visit involving dilation. While I can't speak to her situation, hearing another patient voice concerns about their care added to my lack of confidence in the office. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. The lack of urgency from multiple staff members, combined with what I believe was an incomplete evaluation and an incorrect diagnosis, left me feeling dismissed and could have had serious consequences for my vision. I would strongly encourage anyone experiencing significant eye pain to seek a provider who takes the time to thoroughly evaluate their symptoms.

Took my 100/year old dad today because his eyes were aching and tearing. The women at the front desk were very pleasant, as was the tech, Sky, who performed initial testing. That is where is stops. The dr assistant was extremely rude and has no business dealing with the public. She definitely seems burnt out. Dr Krulewski examined my dad and curtly gave his diagnosis with recommendations. When I asked him to please repeat the course of action he was very abrupt and said “like I said”. Are you kidding!! Never have we come across such rude “professionals”

I am new to the area and called to set up an appointment for my daughter who has seen an ophthalmologist her entire life as it has been medically necessary for her to do so. This practice reports they see pediatric patients online. The receptionist was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She tried to tell me that my daughter's needs are not medically necessary, as if she has access to our 8 years of medical history. I felt she was talking to me like I was dumb and refused to schedule us with the doctor. Now, I'm a midwesterner with a southern flair, I have never been rude to someone like this in my life. From the looks of other reviews, I'm not the first who has encountered this. When I mentioned that we have seen a pediatric ophthalmologist for 8 years and that was deemed medically necessary, her response was, "it's different here in Pennsylvania." Um...sure. Got it. I can't say if the doctors are quality providers or not as I was deemed not important enough to be seen by the mighty gatekeeper.
