Called 2 weeks ago trying to buy contacts with my prescription but was told I would need to get an eye exam. They asked if I had insurance and I told them i didn't and I'd be paying cash. I asked what the appointment would cost and I was told $99. I show up to the appointment and after I'm put in a room I'm asked by the girl who walked me to the room if I've been told about the contact exam fee. I tell her no and she informed me that its $150 for the appointment. Afterwards while I'm still filling out paperwork in the room the doctor informs me its $100 for an eye exam $150 for the contacts eye exam. Im from Florida and I know things are different here but I've never payed $250 for an eye exam to get contacts and the inconsistentcies in pricing and their excuses of not knowing i was trying to get an eye exam for contacts after I called specifically for that reason before making the appointment and the doctors demeanor told me to run for the hills so I left. The exchange with the doctor when I left was weird too.

Each staff member & doctor provides an exceptional level of care and attention to detail to my family which I highly value. Every visit, for over 20 years, we are met with a warm welcome and a tailored approach. From choosing a new pair of glasses or contacts to providing an unscheduled medical need or an impromptu repair, Atlantic Family Eye Care provides the best in vision and patient care.
We were there yesterday. My son needed his first pair of glasses. Everyone was kind and helpful even when the location was very busy at the time. We still got my son glasses in about 1 hour. Great experience and highly recommend.
I have been going to Atlantic Eye Care for years in Woonsocket. It’s been 3 years since I last visited as I felt that I didn’t need new glasses especially since my last appointment resulted in no change. However lately I’ve been squinting to see through blurry vision. I went yesterday per my PCP’s insistance as I’m a diabetic and she said that I needed to go yearly. I made an appointment a week ago and they welcomed me back with open arms! I had already filled out the paperwork online and printed it so I didn’t have to sit for 15 minutes filling out the form. I sat down and within 10 minutes I was called to a room to begin the process of getting examined to determine how my eyes were doing. Within 20 minutes I had been examined and tested for everything using their state of the art equipment. Once all was said and done the verdict came back that while my eyes were in pretty good shape considering I hadn’t been seen in 3 years. Turns out my eyes had weakened a bit and new glasses were needed. I had Dr. Brown. Excellent doctor and very friendly. I only found out after I picked out my eyewear complete with plastic lenses and progressive lenses that Dr. Brown hails from Saskatchewan, Canada. I was also born in the province of Quebec, Canada and it was kind of cool to have a Canadian born Doctor examining me. In any event it was a pleasant experience and when I got home I noticed that they had a website and I got dizzy checking out the reviews as only 3 or 4 out of what seemed like hundreds were less than 5 stars. This is definitely a 5 star business. I will be coming back next week to pick up my new glasses and getting fitted. Update: I picked up my glasses yesterday a week later and they fit like a glove and don’t slide down my nose like my former pair did. It took only 10 minutes and I was out. I will go back in a year.
Atlantic Family Eye Care saved us. My son lost a lens (freak accident) on his only pair of glasses. He has a very rare prescription that requires most companies to outsource for 7-10 business days. They were able to have the special lenses sent overnight and cut in house. We got them quickly! Sarah is a lifesaver.
