Finding a new place. I’ve been going here since I moved to the South shore in 2021. After being at my old place for over 15years. The doctor is great. But the front people are rude and unhelpful. Once I needed a few extra contacts to hold me up until my box came in and basically had to beg (mind you this was never ever an issue at my old place). Well now I call saying I am experiencing mad dizzy spells and feeling weird when I wear my glasses and wondering if they over corrected me(I haven’t been able to wear them since I bought them) and their response is sorry we can see you until March. That in itself is not the problem but it’s clear there wasn’t even an attempt to try. She didn’t go on hold and ask someone or say let me ask and call you back with options. Horrible.

I wear my contact lenses most all the time. About a year ago I lost my glasses and have been making do without them. I don't need them to read so it hasn't been that big a deal till now. Now, I'm going in for surgery tomorrow. and I can't wear contacts. I was panicking. I walked into Cobbs Corner Eye this morning and Karen told they had my prescription in stock! We then picked out frames from their extensive stock. I was able to pick my new glasses up within a couple of hours. Yep, same day! I'm so happy I went there. Karen the optician was great, the store is clean and well organized. Very happy new customer!
I have never had a more terrible experience in a vision office. We liked the doctor, although I didn’t have a long conversation with him, but the ladies who are registering clients (client servers?) are simply impolite, arrogant, not tactful, rude, no contact with clients, they pretend that they are very busy and at the same time cannot press two buttons on the computer. Make an appointments online, why use this option, if after two weeks we still have not received confirmation of the appointment. When visiting the office, it turned out that there were no records in the system and new ones needed to be recorded, then they tortured us for almost an hour to make three records, and then there was some confusion in the appointments; notifications of non-existent appointment were sent by email and phone. Well, the best part is that my daughter and I came at the appointed time, and then we started having problems with insurance, why not check this in advance? and not devote time to the client? As a result, I was not accepted, with the words: “We will call you back when we find out the reason with the insurance,” we were escorted out of the office. A week has passed, still no call from them, they NEVER call back! My husband ordered glasses, they never called about that it ready to pick up until he comes in the office, after listening to the woman in a boorish tone: “Why should you call and then come to the office,” they gave us the glasses! I also don’t understand that Salvin Klein’s glasses were in a case from Tommy Hilfiger?!!! The customer service is the worst I have ever seen in the US. I do not recommend this office; there are many decent and polite offices in this area.
I have been a patient of Dr. Thurm at Cobb Corner Eye Care since I was a kid and I have always had a great experience. I always feel more like a friend than a patient. The office hours are very accommodating for my busy schedule. Great customer service and excellent eye care. Highly recommend!!
Dr Thurm is always caring, attentive and hysterical. He makes the process easy, efficient and quick. He obviously cares about his patients and does what he can to make you feel like you’re his only patient. I’ve brought my daughter to him as well and he had her laughing and at ease when she learned she’d need glasses. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new eye doctor!
