2023 I spent over $500 on a new pair of glasses as my vision is rather poor and I need thinner lenses due to a heavy prescription. I got home and I could not see my computer screen and informed Bard of this. They switched me to a narrower frames and charged me the difference to go to larger lenses. They didn't make a difference. So for 3 years I have to switch between my glasses I drive and walk around with to heavily scratched glasses to see my screen, phone, labels, and books. Last week I went to the Illinois Eye Center and they said I was given a prescription that was STRONGER than I needed and THIS is the reason I can't see my phone, read books, labels or computer screens. So thanks I won't be doing business anymore with you as clearly your optometrists can not get my prescriptions right and now I have to drop another $500 on a pair of glasses that will work for everyday use.

Their staff were friendly. They made sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Optometrist is nice and great at her job. I received my glasses in the time estimate they had given me and they even made sure I knew they arrived asap! The glasses I ordered were exactly what I had dreamt of finding! Can’t go wrong here dood ✌️☦️
I have been a customer of Bard optical for many years, and have normally been satisfied. This is the first time I’m those years I have been TRULY disappointed!! I ordered 2 pair 1 of which was half priced. My free pair of sunglasses did not have my bifocal on them , I was then told that would have been an extra fee for which I would have paid had I known!! Next… I ALWAYS get my lenses tinted… at 20% grey tint, WAY too dark!! So, here I go!! Another 2 weeks without my new glasses!! … over 500.00 and I’m HIGHLY disappointed!! Next time I’ll be going out of town to another place where HOPEFULLY they’ll get it right the first time.
I have had the worst experience at this location! I came back for a second time for myself hoping it would be better. It's our local store. It has been awful. None of my glasses have ever been correct. I have had to send my glasses back to the lab to be fixed and cut correctly multiple times and they still come back not correct and warped. I paid a lot of money out of pocket for my entire family to see the eye doctor and get nice glasses. My husband felt uncomfortable with the older female employee as she is very rude and pretty much bulldozed him into a pair of bifocals that he wasn't comfortable with and is not happy with. My son's glasses were what they call a one-off and they were pieces of junk. They broke in the center of the nose and we're not fixable. I had to pay $300 plus tax and $79 for the warranty to get his glasses fixed. We were never told that they were a one-off and that is something happened we would have to buy a new frames because we would not have bought the ones he picked out originally. I feel like this place only cares about our money and not what we need. I have to wear glasses to drive legally and they have had my glasses more than I have. I am so disappointed and angry with the service I have received. They do have a couple of very nice employees that do care but because they are not management or the optician they can't do anything to help me!
I was very impressed with the overall experience. The facility was very nice, clean, organized and all equipment was functioning. The staff was very friendly and resourceful. Very knowledgeable about their products and assisted me with making the right purchase of my prescription. They were very patient and really impressed me to inform others of the outstanding service. I absolutely love Baird Optical and will not go to any other competitor! Bard Optical on First Drive, Decatur, IL
