I got LASIK back in 2010 — it was a miracle for years. But my distance vision started fading a couple years ago, and even up close things weren't sharp. I'd been putting off doing anything about it and hadn't made the switch to contacts.
Did a new patient exam with Dr. Ramolia recently and it was fantastic. She took detailed imaging of the eye — retina, blood vessels, macula, the whole anatomy — so I actually got to see what's going on in there, not just hear about it. Everything came back clean and healthy, which was a relief.
The real reason for the visit was to explore contact lenses — the type that lets you see far and up close in the same lens. First fit was great for distance, but the up-close strength wasn't quite enough, so screens and my phone were still a struggle. I came back a week later, told her exactly what wasn't working, and she adjusted the fit. Now I've got clear distance vision and can read and work on a computer with no readers needed. Genuinely dialed in.
Ellyn, the optician, was also super helpful and knowledgeable throughout. The office itself is great too — excellent frame selection if you want to go that route, and the whole team is warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in.
