Saturday while making lunch, I had a change of sight with my left eye. Dr. Riggs texted me to come in. After extensive exam I had an ocular migraine. It subsided. I recommend dr. Riggs with my eyesight and families.
I had a work injury and came in as an emergency. Almost right when I stepped in he took me to the patient room, I explained the accident and started treating me and taking pictures of the damaged eye ball. I ended up Scratching my cornea, I was relieved of all pain and took care of everything.I was way better once everything was done. Most professional doctor and really knows what he is doing.
Other people have said it but I'll say it again, Dr. Riggs provides the most thorough eye examinations I have ever received from an optometrist. I'm older and I really need that kind of care. I'm thankful I came to his office. I'm also very happy my glasses. I'm recommending Dr. Riggs to others in my family.

In August 2024 we were on vacation in Oceanside from Europe and unfortunately a herpes developed on my face that spread to my eye. The Urgent care recommended by my insurance company could not treat it. I was shocked because i knew i could loose my eye if it was not treated asap. A nice lady recommended Family Eyecare Center Doctor of Optometry and Dr. John Riggs in Carlsbad. Dr. Riggs is one of the most patient, helpful and knowledgeable doctors I have ever met.
