Dr. Fritz is so kind and answers any and all questions. He is great with all ages, including my 11 year old on the autism spectrum. The staff fitting glasses are amazing! Shelia walked me through options and presented so many choices - while explaining each one. Great customer service!

I moved to Liberty and was looking for a new eye Dr. The Dr. Was great, but when I came out of my annual appointment I was faced with a large bill even though my insurance covers 100% of the annual exam and up to $150 for lenses. AFTER getting the exam and being charged I was notified they actually don't accept my insurance, yet they told me on the phone and at the front desk they did. They acted like it was my fault and they had no empathy in telling me it was my responsibility to pay 100%. The receptionist said, "we will use this to coach our staff." Im glad the coaching will help me with the bill. After looking this up I found they are legally required to let a patient know if they don't accept insurance and what costs will be prior to treatment. I'll be working with the Missouri Department of Insurance to find out how to address this issue. They continue to send me bills and say I'm past due like they did nothing wrong. Very dissapointed in this place.
The doctor and his tech provided excellent care. Dr. T. is a wonderful optometrist and I highly recommend him. However, I found the front desk staff to be generally unprofessional and at times discourteous, with the exception of one individual who was helpful and friendly. Specifically, Avery’s behavior was unacceptable and did not meet professional standards. She didn't even look at me when I asked a question and was curt in her reply. Finally, a friendly and helpful lady took over and seemed almost apologetic for Avery's behavior. I hold my eye doctor in high regard but am contemplating changing providers due to my experiences with the front desk staff. This was not my first experience with rudeness from the front desk at Bennett Eyecare.
I just picked up glasses I ordered 3 weeks ago. When I ordered them I was charged for progressive lenses. After reviewing my insurance I found that I was covered 100% on standard progressive lenses. Upon asking the lady working today, Sheila, about the discrepancy she (not very nicely) said in the past I had upgraded my lenses so they automatically did it again. I don’t agree with doing that without it being discussed with me. What if I was having money issues and couldn’t afford to upgrade my lenses this time. My other concern is with how Sheila handled the conversation. No empathy at all. Did not own up to the mistake. To top it all off she didn’t even take the time to fit my new glasses to my face. She did clean them up nicely enough but they are already slipping down my face so I will have to go back. I have been going to this office for probably 10 years. I will see the doctor again but not sure if I will purchase my next pair of glasses there.
My family has gone to the Liberty location for several years. We recently had an insurance change which affected our coverage. The billing team and especially Cindy was very diligent in regard to working through it and working with me to get through all of the issues without a lapse in care. More companies need to treat their customers like this.
