I’m a 32 yr old , wearing glasses for majority of my life and Jason Weubbe was the best optometrist I’ve ever had. Answered every question I had and went into detail when he was reviewing the picture of my eyes. Seems simple but he was very helpful. Also, the staff in front were very welcoming and friendly. Def recommend!
Great place to get glasses and contacts! I got my eyeglasses and contact exam done by Dr.Weubbe and he was amazing! He did great at explaining everything to me. Abigail & Daz were great at helping me get my glasses and made everything a great experience. Teto was so welcoming and checked in on me throughout my process to make sure everything was going great. I recommend this place to everyone! Reasonably priced.
I came in to update my prescription, and the process was quick and easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and Dr. Weubbe was great. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this office.
Absolute most through eye exams I’ve ever received, and I’ve been wearing glasses for 50 years!! Very friendly and knowledgeable doc, and very friendly and outgoing staff. Highly recommend you consider them for your eye care and for new glasses!
I had my first appointment with Big City Optical on 05/28/2026 and was extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency around pricing and insurance billing. Without my knowledge or consent, I was charged for a Frame & Lens Premium Coverage add-on ($34.99). When I called to dispute this, I was told this is something they add for all patients due to "volume." That is not acceptable and I had to request a refund. Additionally, I was never informed that I was being given premium lens options (Eyezen Start and Crizal Natural Look UV) instead of standard alternatives that my insurance covers at a much lower cost. The difference in out-of-pocket costs was significant and I was given no opportunity to choose. After reviewing my BCBSIL/EyeMed benefits carefully, I found multiple billing discrepancies totaling over $100. I had to follow up via email and phone to get any resolution. The staff was pleasant enough, but the billing practices here are predatory and designed to maximize charges without patient awareness. I will not be returning and would caution others to carefully review their insurance benefits before and after any visit here.
