Big City Optical Logan Square

I had my first appointment at Big City Optical a few weeks ago for an eye exam and new glasses, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Scheduling was easy, my appointment started right on time, and everything felt seamless. Dr. Chido was fantastic. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly without making me feel rushed. She answered all of my questions and made the exam comfortable and informative. Liz was also great! She initially picked out a few frames she thought would look good on me, and she was spot on. She also walked me through the different lens options without any pressure to buy upgrades or more expensive products. In fact, she was very thoughtful about cost, patient throughout the process, and gave honest feedback that I really appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Big City Optical or the team there.

I had Dr. Chido and she was AMAZING! Not only was I a new patient, but I’ve been going to optometrists for several years and this is one of the few times someone actually educated me on my eye health and vision. It turns out I was being overprescribed and actually needed a lower prescription! She was so kind, attentive, and informative throughout the entire appointment. She took the time to show me the scans/tests she did and explained what everything meant, which I really appreciated. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and wants them to understand their eye health. 20/10 experience — I definitely found my new optical place, and it’s so close to me too!

I had such a great experience at Big City Optical. The girls at the front desk were absolutely amazing — so welcoming, helpful, and kind from the moment I walked in. They made the entire experience feel comfortable and easy. The doctor was also incredible, very patient with me, thorough, and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. You can truly tell the staff cares about their patients. I highly recommend this office!

Dr. Chido did a very thorough exam, was super friendly, and smartly skipped dilation since all tests looked great. My visit went so well that I immediately scheduled my wife with Dr. Chido for two weeks from now. Clean, well-stocked store with friendly service. Highly recommend!

I could not be happier with my experience at Big City Optical - Logan Square. Dr. Chido and her team provide an excellent experience from start to finish. The front desk team (shoutout to Liz!) is incredibly knowledgeable and also very helpful in determining insurance adjustments. I went for myself, and my husband and 4 yo son soon followed. My little one scratched his lenses less than two weeks after getting them (!) and the office made the warranty process incredibly simple. ADDITIONALLY, Dr. Chido left me the kindest voicemail re: helping my son adjust to wearing glasses full time. That type of consideration and customer service is so rare! I just love what they are about and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new optometrist.
