After years weighing it, I finally decided on Lasik in. BHREI was highly rated so I did a consult with them. They got me in fast and were very accommodating. They were thorough, and friendly and they made sure to stop often and ask if I had questions. When we scheduled surgery, they were again friendly and accommodating to get me in quickly. Day of surgery, they made sure I was comfortable in the waiting area. Provided snacks and beverages, etc. The surgery was fast. I was back maybe 7 minutes. Even then it only took so long because they are again friendly and informative so you always know what they're doing and why. I got mine Thursday at 4pm and had 20/20 vision at 8am on Friday. It only sharpened over the next two weeks. I can't recommend the facility or the procedure highly enough. It was an awesome experience.

While I think the doctors are great the assistants are garbage. The communication between patient and assistant is almost nonexistent. I arrived for a 4pm appointment only to be told that I had to reschedule because I didn’t have a referral for the particular appointment. I asked why wasn’t I notified and the assistant apologized saying it was her fault that she didn’t notify me while the receptionist thought it to be funny. I’ve had communication issues with these folks since I started seeing them. It sucks!

Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is amazing! They were kind and helpful throughout the whole process. I can see clearly without glasses or contacts for the first time in 33 years. It’s incredible. If you’re even thinking about LASIK- I recommend visiting with their team. They are straightforward and honest. I am so glad I did!

I took my 8 month old in yesterday for a follow up ROP exam. Appt was at 230pm and because I’m respectful we were there at 215pm. Get called back just after 3 for eye drops. Go back to the waiting room. Just after 4 they come back for more eye drops. At 445 we finally see the doctor. When we left the whole place was empty. 230 appt for a 10 minute exam. No explanation, no offer to reschedule because they were having other emergencies or short handed. We live an hour and a half away and hand another kid in day care who we were extremely late picking up. We won’t be going back. The people staff was kind but the lack of respect for others time without explanation or an offer to reschedule was not okay.

Why does your business charge a out of state fee of $300 after an appointment and referral was made. And, why were we told no fee, no appointment. We were there for a ruptured blood vessel. My wife is on Medicare with two addition coverages. Point is, we felt highjacked in the time of need. Bottom line...I don't like your business practices. When I told the Doctor he was very surprised and apologized. The care we received was very good. Thought you should know.
