Dr. Beaver and her team redefine what it means to “go see your eye doctor.” They are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every time I’m there, their team treats me like I’m the only person in the office. They have a fantastic selection of frames and the Italian made line, June, is amazing! I also go regularly for the dry eye spa and Dr. Beaver’s IPL treatments have been such a quality of life improvement. I cannot recommend them enough!

I have been a patient here for a few years now. Dr. Camp is my eye doctor. The staff providing the eye exam portion and running the test are friendly and personable and Dr. Camp is phenomenal. Scheduling the appointment itself and electronically completing annual documents was no problem. My issue was once the exam was over and swlecting glasses. The person I had was not helpful and was more concerned with trying to chastise the doctor about my decision to use my medical coverage versus by eye benefit (for to continuity of care with my primary care doctor) that once she came to sit she was not present. She choose not to assist with helping me select glasses. In previous visits at this part of the exam, they would select a few frames based on my preferences, we try them on, feedback was provided. I decided at that moment I’ll not purchase my frames from hear. I will continue to obtain my eye exam and would recommend them based on the exemplary service I received from check in to end of exam with my prescription.
Dr. Beaver gives excellent care, but the business practice has changed to be more rigid and less family friendly. I’ve had 1-2 young children tag along to sibling’s and my appts since 2020 with zero issues. They sit nicely in the exam room extra chairs. Nothing was ever said to me about it, and we felt very welcomed and cared for by the staff. On the contrary, Dr. Beaver and the nurses usually would joke and chat with the extra sibling. When I booked appts online back to back for two children this spring, the office called me and said that “children’s appts back to back wasn’t allowed,” that it was “too many people in the building,” that “the rooms are too small,” and that I “could make an appt for the following day for additional child.” (Mind you, the additional child would have come along to the older kid’s appt anyways…) Since fall 2025, the business also requires a $50 additional eye exam on a special eye mapping machine that insurances will not cover. It used to be optional—and I think a great idea for those with poor eyes or family history—but for some reason is now mandatory for every client, even kids with healthy eyes. I’ve needed eye care for almost 30 years and have lived in many states to know that good eye care can be done without unnecessary procedures. I think they are trying to pay off the machine. A lot of changes seem to be happening since adding additional doctors to the practice. We wish Dr. Beaver and the cool nurses there the best and do hope some business practices will be reconsidered in the future.
Blythewood EyeCare is absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Everyone takes the time to make you feel comfortable and never rushed. They were incredibly helpful when it came to picking out new frames—offering honest opinions, great suggestions, and making the whole process easy and fun. You can tell they truly care about their patients. Every staff member I interacted with was fantastic. Highly recommend Blythewood EyeCare for both their professionalism and their outstanding customer service!
