i’m really shocked at all the negative reviews on how bad the labor & delivery team is. I had my first baby here almost 6 months ago & it was the most amazing experience i could’ve asked for. Everyone, & i mean everyone, from emergency, to front desk, to all the Dr’s & nurses were God sent. My husband & i have agreed that no matter where we move, we’ll always come back here for any other future births. All the nurses were so patient & kind about any decisions i wanted to make as it was my first time. I went in not wanting the epidural & no one pressured me to get it at all. I got to a point where i had dilated to 5cm & they were gracious enough to wait 3 hours before asking me if i was sure i didn’t want the epidural because i just was not dilating anymore. I decided to go ahead & get it done & the anesthesiologist was so kind & professional. He explained everything perfectly & did his job seamlessly. He was kind enough to wait until my contraction was ending to begin the process & even though i was completely shaking from the pain of them, he did everything so smooth & fast. As soon as the epidural kicked in, it allowed my body to relax enough to the point where i got to 10cm so fast ! It truly was amazing. As soon as it was time to push, a whole team came in & my baby was delivered in 48 seconds. You heard that right. That’s how relaxed I was !! Mind you this was my first time ever experiencing child birth. So I truly have to give this place 5 stars. Even the nurse that put in my IV did it so gently that i didn’t even feel it ! And she let me choose what arm. They checked on my baby & i around the clock, brought me warm broth to drink after birth, & the food provided was just like Ikea food, i was so grateful 😊 it’s a hospital, not a Michelin star restaurant so i don’t know what people expect to be honest. I truly enjoyed every second. I decided to breastfeed & the lactation consultant was so kind & patient ! Everything about this experience was amazing !! There was probably only one nurse that was hard to speak to, but only because of a language barrier. To conclude, if you’re wondering where you should give birth, don’t hesitate to come here ! My main nurse was Nurse Dahlia & she was just an angel. She even came to meet my baby after her shift was over & clocked back in the next day. Also a big thank you to Dr. Melnick (i hope i spelled that right) for reminding me that whether i get the epidural or not, i don’t get a medal 😂 that helped me put things into perspective. Anyway, come give birth here !!

This is the 1st time in my life I had an issue. I work in the medical field for over 10 yrs, was born here and all my treatment is with PIH. Came to the ER was taken back quickly which was great, the nurse who placed the IV in me didn’t even bother disinfecting the area before placing in the needle. While I was being treated in an open exam room with only a curtain as a door. I could hear loudly the nurses and providers discussing about patients. When I got admitted I was treated with care by the staff like always. I had to get my sugar levels check due to being diabetic had a 1 nurse come into the room rushing didn’t disinfect my finger, clean off the blood first then collect the 2nd before left the un-open alcohol whip and needle she pricked me with on the floor. I understand lots of patients to see but have to slow down while with patients. 1 nurse was in the room while I was talking with a family friend in Spanish and the nurse tells the provider of my conversation without knowing the full story. Also it had nothing to do what was happening to me I was already feeling unwell for weeks. I wouldn’t have done what she did if it had something to do with my health I would have said it to the provider MYSELF. On the last day at the hospital once again talking loudly/rudely about patients this time it was EVS, she was on the walkie talkie cleaning the room across the hall from me. I’m sorry but there is a time and a place to talk in private with colleague. This experience of mine was unprofessional I hope the next time I need to be in the hospital this wont happen again.
Big thanks to Doctor David S. and all the Nurses and staff who helped me this morning in the PIH ER. It was extremely busy, but they all showed patience, kindness and were extremely professional dealing with multiple people in their time of need. Even security was going above and beyond to assist the patients coming in. I arrived in severe pain , was examined, diagnosed, and was given a clear explanation and options for my kidney illment and now am on the rode to treatment and recovery. With good service hard to find these days, PIH ER staff did Awesome.
I came to the ER with my wife can't believe the MESS Bathroom not cleaned sandy floor so dirty???
I went in for an ear infection that I couldn’t get rid of and the practitioner looked inside my ear, prescribed meds and I was out. I was told a price for the visit as I didn’t have insurance and I am low income, this was a level 1 visit. I was charged double the amount I was told it was going to be from PIH and an additional $900 doctor bill!!!! I couldn’t believe it. I can’t pay this and they won’t honor the price they gave me. IF YOU CAN GO ELSEWHERE.
