Central Nassau Optical

This is being posted for my wife, Caroline. The entire staff at Central Nassau Optical was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Shopping for glasses has always made me so anxious in the past that I dread having to do it. Everyone from the optometrist to the salespeople made the process easy and strees-free. They have a great selection of frames for any budget and they don't pressure you into buying anything you don't want. I am so happy that I found my new go-to place, thanks to my daughter's best friend, Victoria, who also works there. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend Central Nassau Optical. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I had a great experience at Nassau Eye. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free, taking the time to answer my questions The level of care and attention to detail was excellent, and the service was fast without feeling rushed. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients. Overall I highly recommend Nassau Eye for anyone looking for great service and a friendly people.

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE - Disrespectful and dishonest. Before the exam, I presented my insurance voucher. No one mentioned any issue with coverage. The doctor finally saw me (25 minutes after my appointment time) and only AFTER the exam was completed did Vanessa at the front desk suddenly claim it "doesn't cover contact lenses." This should have been communicated upfront. Anything else feels misleading at best. Felt extremely deceptive and dishonest on their part. When my mom calmly asked for clarification, Vanessa became increasingly condescending and dismissive, speaking to her in a patronizing tone. Another employee then inserted herself into the situation and immediately escalated it by raising her voice and talking over us. At NO point at all were we being rude. There was no reason for them to be hostile. We were simply asking reasonable questions. My mom doesn't speak perfect English, and the way they addressed her felt unnecessarily harsh and lacking in basic respect or patience. It created a very uncomfortable dynamic that no customer should have to deal with. I had to call them out on this and told them that they were being rude, to which they simply doubled down. Even after repeatedly asking why we weren't just INFORMED about the lack of coverage before the exam, no one could provide a straight answer...just deflection and attitude. Not only have I been to a handful of different eye doctors before and have never experienced this, but also l've been coming here since I was a child for my glasses, which makes this even more disappointing. This office lacks transparency, accountability, and respect for its clients. They are perfectly willing to provide services without clearly explaining costs. And then they'll try to treat you poorly if you question it. Take your money somewhere that actually values honesty and basic customer service.

It started with great service, Vanesa told us we could get fifty percent off Prada; We took the glasses but Vanesa started to flirt with my partner. She asked him inappropriate questions that had nothing to do with the sale, it made both of us uncomfortable.

It all started well until I changed my mind about getting the glasses with them! The optometrist were great! Veronica is very pushy. This is my 1st pair of glasses and I was overwhelmed with all the info and she took advantage of that! On Saturday, 9/6/25, on a call, she stated that since the lenses were not still not ordered but in progress therefore she will put then "in stock " and only charge me $30 for the eye exam. When I asked why the exam could not be filed under my insurance, she explained that you could not file two separate claims (one for the exam and one for the frame + lenses). She also mentioned that, in that case, she would not file a claim at all and that she would follow up with me on Monday, 9/8. I have yet to receive a call from her However, when my insurance contacted her today, she stated something different—that no such offer was made and that the $30 was for lenses with blue-light protection. This directly conflicts with what she told me on 9/6. I have the right to change my mind regarding an important purchase such as my first pair of glasses. Since I have not signed any agreement with you for this purchase, I should not be held responsible for charges beyond what was initially explained. Finally, she agrees to refund me after threats of disputing with my bank! Oh there's more: to get my refund she wants me to text my card number or give it over the phone.. I've never interacted with a business unable to cancel a transaction after using a credit card! Never again, she fooled me with her fake kindness!
