The wait time here is unacceptable. It feels like the schedule is packed with far more “appointments” than the staff can realistically handle, and patients end up paying the price by sitting for an unreasonable amount of time. If you’re going to book that many people, you need the staffing and workflow to match—otherwise it comes across as prioritizing volume over patient experience. I’d strongly recommend y'all scale appointments to your capacity and focus on delivering timely, respectful care rather than the greed-fest y'all got going. The doctor's response to long wait time was that it was an 'elective' procedure and we elected to sit there and wait for hours, goes to show how much they really care about their patients.

I recommend finding another practice that has a more considerate and efficient process. I was there 2.75 hours and eventually gave up and left without seeing the doctor. I spent maybe 20 minutes with the woman who took my history, checked vision, and put in drops, and a few minutes with the "refractory consultant" but the rest of it was wasted time, just sitting, waiting. Other patients commented on how long it was taking and how frustrating it was. There's just no excuse for wasting so many people's time like that.

With no reason to doubt him, I scheduled an appointment for a vision check-up and prescription for eyeglasses. I specifically picked the 8:00 am timeslot to avoid the crowd, but it seemed luck was not on my side that day. In the waiting room, there were already 10+ people ranging from young to elderly, singles to couples either seated or chatting with receptionists. I exchanged some words with a female staff and was directed to a seat. Thanks to my pre-register, the check-in process was quick; I would recommend this to everyone. The waiting area was clean and freshly scented; there were restrooms and shelves filled with magazines to cure boredom. I waited for some 30 minutes before another staff, probably a tech, called me in for the glass prescription tests. She also filled out some paperwork and applied eye-dilating drops. Then, I was led to a shaded waiting area just behind the reception counters, where I waited for my eyes to dilate. I didn't have to wait for long before an assistant escorted me to an examination room where I finally met Dr. Tara Cayton. Dr. Cayton inspected my eyes with some advanced diagnostic equipment and provided useful advices regarding my condition. She was amicable and knowledgeable; it was such a pleasure meeting with her. The assistant was also helpful even though she remained mostly silent. The check-out process was swift; I received my prescription and a receipt. The check-up was free thanks to my insurance, but the prescription cost a reasonable fixed amount. The whole visit lasted about an hour and a half. Overall, I am pleased with my experience at Cincinnati Eye Institute Fairfield and definitely would visit again in the future.
I received a text from CACI collections working on behalf of CEI to collect on a $30.60 bill from around 2 years ago, which I never received a bill for. I contacted billing (a contracted third party) and explained I never received a bill. We went back and forth for a bit and of course he didn't believe me. I then spoke to a women in scheduling who informed me that they have had several complaints concerning the billing company they use. She was helpful in escalating my call and spoke to someone else who after a moment explained that they had my wrong address due to a clerical error on their part. Then proceeded to explain what "I" would need to do to take care of collections and get it off my credit after I paid the $30.60. Collections billed me via text and CEI has my email as well and now I have to do the work to clean up my credit. Thanks a lot.
I am typing this review specifically for Casey Lozier. I've been dealing with an eye issue for years and several doctors did not / could not diagnosis it. Casey Lozier, before he even sat down, looked at my eye and immediately told me what the issue was and he was right. I was also very impressed that he is the ONLY medical professional who extended his hand for a handshake. I've been seeing doctors as an adult for over 30 years now and he's literally the only medical professional to do that. That's something I won't forget.
