First, I had issues with my eyes and it seemed the technician who was terrific (the first one I saw) btw was awesome and patient. It was like they didn’t want to bother the eye doctor who was extremely rude. Come to find out I had dry eyes post partum so I had to lubricate them and come back in a week. I did. The technician then was extremely rude. Didn’t know what was going on. Told me the dr who I saw previously was going to talk to me. Never did. Gave me a prescription for dailies which I realized when I wore them for a day or two why they don’t work called back and said they only prescribe a specific brand of contacts. I’m like okay but these don’t work. Can you just send me my prescription for acuvue. Said I needed to come back in I’m like no. So now my prescription needs to be updated with no contacts. I ordered two glasses from LensCrafters who were terrific so I’m hoping that they fix. I’m not sure why I paid a $160 when I barely saw an eye doctor to explain my other issue which the technician really didn’t did. I’m a single mom and get crap insurance for eyes so this is very unfortunate.

Beware - Avoid this location at all costs!!! I had my eyes examined here and purchased 2 pairs of glasses from them costing more than $2,000 and I can not see at all. They insisted I continue wearing the ill fitting glasses for 2-3 weeks to get used to them. They made 2 adjustments to no avail, as I continued telling them that was not the issue. I have worn progressives for 6 years and have never had a problem like this before. Now that I am approaching my 30 day window for returns, they want me to wait until outside that window to see what they might be able to do?? What kind of sense does that make?? This location has done nothing but skirt responsibility and give me the run around. I will be returning them and taking my business elsewhere. What a waste of time and money, not to mention that I haven’t been able to see with these glasses for almost a month. Very poor service, very disappointed in City Eye and their attached location Lenscrafters!
I went to get a new prescription for glasses since my power had changed. At that time, I was also dealing with sinusitis that was causing a lot of pressure and pain in my eyes. I told her my blood sugar levels have been normal for the past 3 months, but she didn’t believe me and said vision only changes drastically if sugar levels are high. Instead of writing prescription glass she tried to refer me to a eye clinic in Vernon which is way far from meriden. I ended up same day in ER and I feel better now as it was my sinus infection causing discomfort in my eyes. When I asked why cant she just write a prescription glass for change in power she said it will change in 2 hours and she cant do it. Eventhough my power hasn't changed like she claimed. My vision is still the same blurry and due to her I have to pay money out of my pocket for nothing. I would avoid this Dr at any cost as it seems she doesnt know what she is doing. Also initially they wanted me to pay the full cost. But when I said I have insurance during my booking they weren't happy that insurance is being used. I also think that is one of the reason they played tricks and dint prescribe me for a change in power glass and tried to refer me to a same city eye clinic in vernon.
Very unfortunately had the worst customer service experience. Receptionist was extremely rude and did not let me get the exam done. I never leave public reviews however this was necessary. Just because she wasn't able to explain the policy clearly to me and had no patience. Policy is policy however not being able to explain to clients is not acceptable. Since it took me 10 minutes to be able to confirm the policy through insurance, at this time she was with another client. This took her another 20ish minutes. At this point she refused to let me get the exam done saying my appointment time is over I came back to this location because of the previous very good experience with LensCrafters portion of the store.
All the staff and Dr are super friendly and welcoming and helpful. The location is very clean and modern with lots of frames options. I would highly recommend this optical
