I have received quality service from Civano Eyecare for years. Dr. Finnell truly takes her time evaluating each patient in detail and assessing overall health through the eyes. It is obvious that alongside providing accurate prescriptions and contacts/glasses, she genuinely prioritizes the holistic wellbeing of her patients. Additionally, the office has a cozy and inviting atmosphere and the office staff has always been friendly and helpful.

My experience with changing eyesight related to age has been an issue and Civano Eyecare has been THE place where my eyesight has actually improved with Carolyn’s care and expertise. I’m using daily disposable contacts that are working so well, so good. The kind of place where I recommend to friends.
My time is expensive and their incompetence has already taken enough of it so I will keep this brief and stick to the facts. They wanted to upcharge me for everything as soon as they knew I had an HSA. 1 year contacts at more than 1500$. I told them I did not want multifocals or transitions. they insisted. Had to physically come into the office to get my prescription several times because of all the changes. The secretary hung up on me every time. When I came into the office to get my prescription the last time, (May 12 2026, around 3:45pm) the lights were off and her (boyfriend?) was the only one there. He does not work there and was not a patient. I called ahead at 3:30pm and took time out of work-again- to get this prescription and she was not there. I needed to physically drive the printed script to my new doctor at target because the FAX did not work, even though the doctor called me at 10:26 AM May 12 2026 and confirmed they sent the fax to my new doctor... ANYWAYS me and the mysterious gentleman had a good time making small talk about architecture as I waited for the secretary to return when she hit him a bit firmly but playfully en route to her desk. I kindly asked for my contact and glasses prescription and she printed them without saying a word. After getting my prescription (which was STILL multifocal lenses), her boyfriend wanted to continue small talk and she aggressively yelled “NO.” I felt uncomfortable and said “I think I should go” and quietly left. I felt bad because the man was kind and really sweet and passionate about architecture and she was mean to him for no reason. Aversive, unprofessional, incompetent. I blocked their phone number and am getting a new exam at target. They take medically-necessary corrections to prescriptions as a personal slight. They are not professionally equipped to run a business. They are not equipped with the integrity and humility necessary to provide competent care. If receiving a prescription was not a literal federal human right, they likely would not have even given me that. I have to start all over with another doctor and am never coming back. I have thousands in my HSA and I will pay any doctor any amount to never suffer this again. I ate through hours of my PTO to fix these mistakes. Maybe instead of writing milquetoast apologies to all the one star reviews here you can take accountability and make positive changes to your care and business model; including fair market transparency for pricing. Also stop blaming your patients for your own inconsistency, unprofessionalism, lack of communication, arrogance, and price gouging.
I’ve had multiple issues with this office but today is the last straw. Showed up for my appmt after booking it over the phone a month ago and apparently they didn’t have it booked in their system. Already off to a great start wasting my time and then the lady at the front desk pulled the “Did you know this is a fragrance free office because you have a lot of cologne on” that was it for me. I’ve liked the Dr. in the past but I can’t deal with this office anymore. I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you like Karen’s then this is the place for you.
I highly recommend Civano Eyecare!! The entire team treats you like family from the moment you walk in. Dr. Finnell is by far the best optometrist I’ve been to in Tucson. She truly cares about you, your eye health, and vision needs. I’ve been to many optometrists over the years, and no one compares! Plus, it’s great supporting a local business rather than a big franchise. If you’re looking for genuine care and expertise this is the place to go!¡
