I had an excellent experience at Dr. Mollega’s office from start to finish. Kate and staff were welcoming, professional, and made the entire visit feel smooth and stress-free. Scheduling was easy, and I was seen right on time, which I really appreciated. Dr Mollega was incredibly thorough during the exam, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. It’s obvious they genuinely care about their patients’ eye health and comfort. Thank you for making my eye exam and selecting my glasses a pleasant experience.

I like Clarkson Eyecare in Miramar Beach so much I still go there every year for my annual exam even though I moved back to Birmingham 9 years ago. Dr. Mollega is a very personable doctor. Kate manages every visit perfectly and my tech Makala was superb. I'm always impressed with the entire office look and great selection of eyewear.
Update:They called me this afternoon and helped. I am very relieved. This was my experience as a new patient to the area. "I am new to the area and have family that loves Dr. M, so I went in for a simple contact lense exam (zero eye problems). I have been in the same lenses for a few years and I love them. Dr. M recommended a new brand they partner with. He also recommended progressives only due to my age and computer work. I agreed to try both lenses. I felt the progressives were not necessary as I didn't feel a difference, but the new brand in general feels thicker, my eyes feel dry and by the end of the day I could not wait to take them out. My previous lense is light, comfortable and amazing for me. At checkout the day of my appointment, the gentleman that helped me and gave me quotes for glasses, and contacts was incredibly informative and broke down pricing (the new lenses are of course much more and you have to do a rebate for a deal, so I was a bit nervous to order a year supply of contacts I have never tried). I also found out I was booked the highest exam level. I will chalk that up to being a new patient, but make sure you ask what level of exam you are getting prior to going if you are not having eye issues. I ended up holding off on ordering to try samples - 2 sets - both over the next week, but did not care for them as much as my normal lenses. I called to see if I can just get my regular contact prescription, left a voicemail and no call back. I called again and the front desk was VERY RUDE. She told me the manager would call me (IDK why...I just want to order my regular contacts!) No call back again. Then holiday weekend...I am down to 5 contacts, no glasses and called again this morning. I stated it all again to the VERY RUDE FRONT DESK. While I am talking...she is whispering to someone who is laughing (clearly I was a bother and felt like someone calling to complain, but I just need to see) While I was speaking she was whispering to someone "sorry, ugh...sorry"... I caught the drift that my phone call was interrupting, but what else to do? I am at a loss! Advocate for yourself. I will schedule my appointments back home from now on. I cannot see past my nose without contact or glasses, so this is incredibly important to me. I cannot even believe I am writing a semi bad review for an eye clinic - but, this wasn't a nice experience, time consuming, expensive and frustrating." Noted from above: they did call me and help out to get my regular prescription, so I appreciate that. Overall, my upset is from the feeling of being upsold, and frustration of booking an appointment for a renewed prescription that I am doing great with and having difficulty with ordering. At one point I was told they don't know if I'd have to make another appointment for my regular lenses I came in with to this appointment with! The doctor was great. No issues and I appreciate them informing me on new tech. I am not opposed to trying new options at all. I will give them another go and see how next year goes.
I have known Kate and Dr Mollega a long time. Both care and love what they do! Kate has helped me with my glasses needs for years and I do not trust anyone else! Dr Mollega is also very thorough and knowledgeable about all health aspects, wonderful team!
First time experience here was great!! Friendly reception, techs, Optometrist and eyeglass coordinator! Very receptive to my needs and was not rushed when choosing frames and everyone gave their suggestions and recommendations now that I’m in my 50’s and choosing progressives vs. the norms. Highly recommended!!
