I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Comprehensive Eye Care. In March I called their Beavercreek office to schedule an eye exam and was given an appointment for June. After waiting months, I called one week before my appointment to confirm it and the representative I spoke with assured me that my appointment was still scheduled and everything was in order. To my surprise, only a couple hours later, I received a text informing me that my appointment had been canceled because they do not accept new patients with my insurance. I then went to the office in person, where I was told the same thing. I explained that the appointment had been scheduled months earlier and that I had relied on the date they provided. If there was an insurance issue, it should have been identified when the appointment was first made—not after making me wait for months and confirming the appointment just days before. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of accountability. I was told there was no manager available to speak with and that the decision had already been made not to see me because of my insurance. This experience showed a serious lack of communication, organization, and respect for patients’ time. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office and would encourage others to consider alternative providers if they want to avoid similar frustrations.

They canceled my appointment a week prior and never notified me. They said it was a problem with my insurance. So if you plan to miss work for an appointment you should call and confirm you still have an appointment. Even if my insurance wasn't adequate I could have paid for the exam. You guys really have an odd approach to customer service. Communication skills are key to customer service. I can only imagine how terrible the rest of your staff operates. I am counting my blessings for sure.
This place has been amazing with my whole family. Dr. Fox has been wonderful with my three children, my wife, and me. The office staff has always been patient and soft spoken when explaining things. Dr. Fox is extremely patient with my kids (7, 12, 15). She has taken the time to explain what things are, why she is doing what she does with the equipment, and has been very thorough in her exam, regardless of if we are buying glasses there or not. We have been going here for years. I have never left without laughing at least once. I have never felt pressured into buying glasses. My kids insist that we take them here, and I agree.
I was there a few years ago and was not impressed. I was given a wrong diagnosis and prescription and saw better without glasses. During one test, the this or that better, i saw no change but was told i had to pick one. However, I decided to give them a second chance and went back today. They have a new dr that was hired a couple of months ago, and she is absolutely amazing. Very respectful and kind and knowledgeable. She explained things and acknowledged that my prescription was very much wrong and way off and that I had been improperly diagnosed with a stigmatism. The new prescription is similar to the ones I've had in previous years, and I feel much better about my vision and moving forward. My only negative comment is that the front desk staff need to keep their volume down. I heard them upset and talking about drama with other people the entire time I was there. While It may not bother me, that's not very professional.
I am not a patient here but an optician at a different practice. When I called to get information about a mutual patient the optician who answered was extremely kind and helpful. It can be pretty rare to have such a pleasant experience when calling a “competitor” so I felt this deserved a 5 star review! Will be keeping them in mind when needing to refer my own patients!
