I have been a patient of Consulting Ophthalmologists in Glastonbury, CT for many years for the management and monitoring of glaucoma. At my last visit approximately six months ago, my eye pressure was well controlled, and there were no significant changes. I use two glaucoma medications daily and understand the importance of regular follow-up. Unfortunately, after missing a recent appointment, I called to reschedule and was told that the earliest available appointment was at the end of December. I asked whether I could see another provider within the practice sooner, but was told that no earlier appointments were available. I found this extremely disappointing. As a long-term patient with a chronic eye condition that requires ongoing monitoring, I expected better access to care and greater consideration for established patients. What concerns me most is that a practice should not accept more patients than it can reasonably care for. When long-term patients cannot obtain a follow-up appointment for many months, it raises serious questions about access to care and patient service. This experience left me feeling frustrated, undervalued, and disappointed. Rather than waiting until December, I have decided to look for another ophthalmologist. I hope Consulting Ophthalmologists will reconsider how it manages follow-up care for long-term patients with chronic eye conditions such as glaucoma.

This review is specifically for Dr. Mojica, not the practice as a whole. The front desk staff, technicians, and everyone else I interacted with were absolutely amazing. The wait time was also fine, and I had no issue with the office itself. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Mojica was extremely disappointing. From the moment she walked into the room, the appointment felt rushed and dismissive. It felt like she was simply coming in to go over the technician’s prescription and move on, rather than actually listening to my concerns or taking the time to answer my questions. Her bedside manner needs serious improvement. I felt judged, unheard, and dismissed throughout the entire 10 minute (at most!) interaction with her. WHILE I WAS ACTIVELY STILL SPEAKING AND TRYING TO ASK QUESTIONS, SHE OPENED THE DOOR AND BEGAN WALKING OUT OF THE ROOM! To say I was shocked is an understatement. That made it very clear that my concerns were not being taken seriously, and I left my scheduled appointment frustrated and with unanswered questions. The rest of the staff and practice were great, but my experience with this doctor was not. I would recommend booking at this practice with another doctor, I'd avoid Dr Mojica even as a last resort..
Staff were courteous and professional. They were so reassuring and informative. Dr. Edwards is always so delightful and down to earth explaining whatever you need to know. Fabulous doctor.
The physicians are very good but I do not recommend their optical shop. Worst pair of glasses I have ever purchased. When I went to pick them up, I told them I couldn’t see. They apparently did not fit me correctly for the progressive lens. Two of the technicians fiddled with them so I could see but the frames were so poorly maladjusted in order to allow me to see correctly, sliding down my face constantly. A total joke. Because of this I will not go back to this group. Sorry to have to post this but glasses aren’t cheap.
I am new to this area. And chose Consulting Ophthalmologists after reviewing their website. You want to pick a good eye doctor, as your eyes are your life. Having diabetes, my optical health is especially very important. I've seen two physicians now at this practice. I was so impressed with the care and service. I saw an exceptional physician yesterday, Dr.Ditolla. I had painful tearing and burning in my eyes. However, this doctor noticed how very dry all my mucus membranes were, my eyes, my mouth, my nose, conditions I have suffered with for years. She took the time to look beyond the surface-level symptoms I came in with, and concerned with the severity of all my dryness she suggested I be tested for a condition called Sjögrens Syndrome which specifically tries to attack the mucus membranes and create all this dryness. It has wreaked havoc with my dry mouth as lack of moisture in your mouth causes cavities, which I've had many since the dryness started years ago. I am being tested for this syndrome, if I do have it, treating it will alleviate my suffering. Very rarely will a physician make the effort to assess other related health issues they might recognize. I am confident following my two experiences at this practice, I know I will receive exceptional care here at Consulting Ophthalmologists. Thank you again Dr.Ditolla.
