Went in for a little issue with my eyes. Was in and out of my appointment in about 30 minutes with picking out new frames. Dr Cooper answered all my questions and my glasses were ready much quicker than I expected.

I live in Anniston and had had enough of America’s Best. This place was highly recommended by a friend. Let me tell you it was worth the drive! I was in and out within 30 minutes. The doctor was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was clean and CALM...also very different from America’s Best which has been a nightmare the last few years. They gave me a great discount since I didn’t have insurance....better than America’s Best prices even! I will definitely be going back.

I was calling to ask about some general information, and the lady who answered the phone has very poor administrative skills very poor office skills, very poor social skills, and a very bad ability to be very rude to people that are calling in simply asking very nice questions, very normal questions that anyone would ask a business, she could not answer any of my questions, and was very rude and very anxious to get off the phone and do whatever else she was doing. I’ve worked in offices for over the past 20 years and I have never been rude to any customer even though they might be having a bad day and they have bad energy or they’re negative, I still try to give the best customer experience that you need to give because if you don’t no one‘s gonna come back to you, needless to say, I switched doctors and I’m very happy with the one I am at now, I was born and raised in Gadsden and it’s disgusting how they answered the phones and I have had many more complaints from other people here in Gadsden and it’s just embarrassing If they don’t want any customers, they should probably close down or get better staff, and teach them how to answer the phones and be social…. 🫥🫥🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

On the positive part, Dr. Cooper’s exam was fairly thorough and he was friendly and professional. I did note as one other reviewer posted, his equipment did appear to be older and I don’t recall getting a pressure test which is usually provided by other optometrists on routine vision exams. On the negative part, his front office person, Dori, is blunt, snappy and rude. Do not expect a smile and a warm welcome. When I returned for my glasses, I again experienced a blunt, snappy and rude Dori. She handed me my glasses and ask “how they fit.” However, she never offered to seat me or even hand me a mirror. Dori is a very unpleasant person to interact with. I don’t want her to lose her job but she definitely needs some redirecting if she continues to interact with patients. She is not an asset to Dr. Cooper if he wants to grow his business. Unfortunately, I can not recommend Dr. Cooper for the reasons provided and will seek me a different optometrist.
