Costco is always great. This location in Salem is no different. Parking was busy but not too bad especially if you park off center like to the left of the right of the main entrance. The check-in process is very quick and smooth despite the amount of people that were there. Those selection of products priced well is the norm and today in this location is no different. Well, impressed me most was the amount of protein, powders and drinks. The choices almost seemed overwhelming. I was looking for a non-victory non-way option and only found one of those.. The amount of snacks, nuts, chips and jerky was almost as impressive. The fruit vegetable and produce section was just as strong. I love the amount of seasonal outdoor clothing and equipment at very good prices. In fact, insane prices. For for example, kids snow pants for six dollars!! The ready to cook food section seemed a little late, especially for the holiday season, but it made up for it in baked goods, variety, and quality. Section of meat and seafood is great at good prices. And yes, the five dollar Costco chicken is so awesome.

Everyone knows Costco, but what brings me to write a review is the truly exceptional service I received in the optometry department. First I had my exam with Dr. Johns, who was incredibly personable and made the medical side of my appointment feel effortless and comfortable. After my eye exam, I went to get contacts and glasses. Brad and Phillip in particular were so friendly and knowledgeable that I still remember both of their names as I write this review several months later. I can't say enough good things about my experience, and would highly recommend coming in for all your optometry needs!

Overall, we love this store. Staff is always kind and friendly and willing to do whatever they can to assist. This location can get busy but I feel like that's any Costco. You cannot beat the value that this store provides.

This was my first time shopping and paying at a Costco in the US and I wasn't sure exactly what the check out protocol was. I didn't want to put the clothes I purchased on the wet conveyer belt. I don't know what pre-check is, ect. It was one hiccup after the next, and after I paid, the young male cashier was super polite to the man behind me to essentially make fun of me. His lack of patience, warmth, and subsequent disrespect made me feel so uncomfortable that afterwards I sat in my car and cried.
