This review is for the optometrist, not the glasses sales dept. Appointment was easy to make. Dr. Phu Nguyen and staff were super kind, quick, and thorough. Dr. Nguyen answered all my questions. Would come back and recommend, no questions. Going rate for the basic exam is currently $95 (summer 2026).

If you’re not picking up an order, expect to receive horrible customer service and wait for at least 30 minutes. When I arrived to the optical station I went to pick a ticket and it was empty so I joined the line like everyone else. They proceeded to help everyone else but me because they were picking up and I stood at the front of the line for about 20minutes. Finally, a woman came out ready to help the people who weren’t picking up orders and started calling order numbers. For most of us in line, the ticket chamber was empty when we arrived so we didn’t have a number and she seemed irritated that nobody was answering her calls. After a few moments, a guy at the back of the line said he just pulled a ticket and she proceeded to ignore everyone else in front of him and take him to the counter to help him. At this point I’d been waiting for about 30 minutes so I decided it wasn’t worth it and just left. I wouldn’t recommend this optical center at all. The customer service staff are entitled and very rude. I wish I had said something and absolutely don’t recommend doing your business with them

the optometrists working at Dr. Howard’s office are amazing, thorough and kind. this review is about the staff at the optometrist department who answer calls/assist with purchasing glasses or contacts. they are consistently rude and will claim that their titles as optometrists allow them to speak to customers in a condescending tone of voice. if you can, order your glasses or contacts online with costco rather than ordering with the optometry department.

So I’ve been going to this Costco for eye exams for like 10 yrs And the one single time I didn’t go there and I went somewhere else. My prescription was incorrect and I purchased over $500 for the glasses that had the wrong prescription but this Costco these doctors are amazing. Only the space comfortable and the people within it are so kind and polite and it’s a very small space so to have a few people in there that I think there’s four employees at a time that includes a doctor. It’s like a machine and they’re doctor is accurate and kind and careful and genuine and I am always comfortable there. This is the place to go. I don’t know about any other Costco. I just know this one and if I have to fly back here after moving just to have my eyes exam I may just do that, I don’t trust anyone else now so these people

The doctors and eye exam clinic staff are great, but the customer service at the glasses counter is consistently poor. I’ve bought three pairs of glasses here, and only one tall gentleman has ever been kind and helpful. On 7/28, I went in to pick up a pair of glasses. It was busy, so I politely asked an older staff member, “Excuse me, do I need a ticket if I’m just picking up?” He snapped back rudely, clearly annoyed I even asked. They were calling number 24, so I waited. When number 28 was called, a woman named Gigi skipped to helping a man who had no ticket and wasn’t even purchasing anything. She spent 20 minutes with him, then quickly started calling numbers, nearly skipping mine (I was 30). When I finally spoke up, she called me up and clarified—ironically—that pickup customers don’t need a ticket. I mentioned the earlier interaction, and she brushed it off with, “Well, I’m here now.” Another customer sitting nearby commented, “Wow, they’re rude here.” I couldn’t agree more. I grabbed my glasses and left as quickly as I could. I won’t be coming back, and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone. Rude service and long wait times aren’t worth it. If the staff dislikes customer service, they shouldn’t be in it.
