2 stars for "I'm disappointed." While making an appointment in person(Jan 2026)was easy, at the location, at the desk in the optical area. I did get a quote ahead of time for pricing , with no insurance, for an office visit. I was also aware of a possible upcharge for a pictorial they take, of your eyes, for $60 maybe? I RARELY give 2 star reviews. Check my history! This appointment that I had with the optical doctor I was SUPER UNDERWHELMED by. Did I share that with the provider, after my appointment, no. I'm not like that. Did I call them a month later, and let them know I was disappointed? No. The reasoning I gave it 2 stars, is he called me back to the exam room, looked over my paperwork, and never asked me why I was there. Just immediately started going to into the testing! Never asked me "oh are you having problems seeing?" "Can you see things from afar?" Never spoke to me at all about my reasoning for me being there. He also didn't ask me about anything that I wrote down on that health history form, which, my mom has had eye problems, donated eyes through organ donation, I have a hereditary eye disease. But nothing was mentioned. Yes! I could have spoken up too, but any other time I'm at the doctor's office, whether it be eye , teeth, dermatology, yearly physical, the provider always says, what are you here for today? What hurts? He had told me that my eyesight had barely changed, for me to get new glasses. I would have told him in the beginning, that my eyesight has gotten worse, but I was expecting him to lead in with that question of how my eyesight had been doing. When I told him at the near end, that I didn't quite agree with him telling me that my eyesight barely changed, I said that can't be possible, I can't see things as clearly on the top part of my glasses, because I do have bifocals. He said, oh well then you need to go to a specialist. What?!? Sure, you can dismiss my review, but I did not like this provider the way he conducted the exam at all. I'm not going to be recommending anybody go to Costco Maple Grove Optical, despite the $120 cost. Heck, you can get two pairs of eyeglasses, and a free eye exam from America's Best for $120 or less. Also, when you go back to look at lenses, there is no line, it's just a free-for-all. But hey, be my guest and check them out.

I came to visit my mom in Minnesota from Canada, and my glasses accidentally broke. I went to the Costco in Maple Grove, and Joe in the optical department was incredibly helpful. He was so nice and polite, and he fixed my glasses. Thank you Joe
The only downside is that they can be a little busy, but other than that, this place is awesome! They have a huge selection of glasses, and even without insurance, the prices are very affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. I visited Costco after checking Visionworks to compare pricing, and I’m really glad I did. Visionworks was going to charge me $120 after insurance, while Costco saved me about 65%. What really stood out is that Costco’s lenses already include things other places try to upsell you on, like blue light filtering and anti-reflective coating. After hearing Costco’s out-of-pocket price, it honestly felt like Visionworks was trying to scam me. Costco for the win
i had a great eye exam. Personable Dr. and am excited to get my new glasses. Great selection.
What happened to my review?????? I had a detailed review and it was removed. Fine. I will re-do it. I used to love going to Costco Optical. Multiple rounds of glasses. The person who does eye exams is great. Getting glasses there is not. I now have three pairs I can't stand and am ordering some somewhere else. The whole experience was unpleasant and I am having issues with my glasses, including one that rips my hair out on a regular basis.
