I assumed all Costco experiences would be similar. Not so. The optical department at Bunker Hill sets the bar in poor quality service. Glasses with Costco computer vision lenses are not only useless, they are dangerous. The part for focus on computer screen is so small, the slightest movement causes distortion. Prolonged (beyond an hour) use causes eye fatigue. When I asked for them to check, they (Flora) was exceptionally rude then came the kicker. If you EVER return a lens to Costco, they will NEVER allow you to purchase from them again. What??? Avoid this store optical department unless you enjoy throwing your money away. In which case, throw it in the direction of a decent charity.

They implemented a digital queue so you can use your some of the wait time shopping. They also have implement pickup at the locker which allows you to skip the queue if no adjustments is needed. These are time saving improvements based on customer feedbacks. I also experienced excellent customer service today. I like this Costco Optical Dept and would go back.

I purchased a Costco membership for the optical department and have had nothing but problems. The glasses I ordered in 2025 came scratched and I had to take them to a different location to get them fixed because the staff here told me “there was nothing they could do”. This year I tried to order contacts and they told me that I had to order online though my insurance does not apply to Costco.com. I came back to order from a different representative and now I am being told they won’t contact my insurance (VSP) and that I need to contact them on my own to verify my benefits. (I checked this morning but they “can’t apply the benefits”.) Good prices but I have now been to the optical department no less than 6 times and still can’t get contacts ordered. What a joke

Shocked at the bad reviews! I got quotes at vision source for $500-800 for one pair of glasses. Went on over to Costco and got 3 pairs for a little over $300. Both workers were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of selections. I got my glasses within a week. Costco for the win again and again. Highly recommend!

Outstanding service at Costco Optical! Especially the gentleman who works there, he provides the best service, very professional and attentive. Great selection, fair pricing, and overall excellent experience every time. Highly recommend!
