I recently filled a couple of prescriptions at Costco. The staff was genuinely pleasant and helpful. They have a budget-friendly collection that's great for everyday needs. However, I believe there's room for improvement in their sunglass selection, particularly for men.

Overall: great experience. Jason was patient and helpful. My insurance covers glasses or contacts, but not both, but Jason was able to help me optimize for best overall out of pocket cost. Would go here again. I recently had a good experience with this Costco Optical, Jason specifically. I didn't have an appointment and went in during a weekday when it wasn't busy and was helped almost immediately. I needed glasses and contacts and Jason walked through what options I had and what my benefits would cover. Jason helped me optimize my benefits and I ultimately used my benefits for my contacts and I paid out of pocket for the glasses. He was patient and helped fit various glasses I tried out. During this COVID, Jason and the other Costco Optical attendant were wearing masks and had baskets to put any glasses I tried on so they could disinfect for future customers (although I left before they cleaned them, so I assumed they disinfected them). I would go here for future glasses and contacts again.

Polishing the sides of my new lenses was "forgotten" and would have taken another 7 days to correct, after I already waited 7 days to get the glasses. I told the optometry apprentice to forget it and refund my money for that. Then this "apprentice" adjusted and adjusted and adjusted my glasses for 20 minutes without being able to get it right. They are terrible and I fear that all the bending and twisting has damaged and may cause weakness in the structure of the frames, resulting in breakage. I am going to attempt to get a refund but am not hopeful. UPDATE: They actually gave me my money back after I gave them an earful!

So this review is only about their customer service(because I never received the service I needed so cant say anything about the doctors) Over 3 weeks ago I called to make an appointment for me and my family on different days (person who answered I want to think that was very busy and not rude) made my appointment and another day for my husband and child. Their appointment notification came couple days in advance to remind them and they went everything was fine. My was the following day so my husband asked why I didn't get a notification like he did and their answer was that they didn't had me on file (I made all the appointments) so last week I called again because I was highly recommended and tried again. I was giving an appointment for today at 1:00pm as I'm getting ready because is not closed by me I decided to call just to make sure that I won't have surprises when I arrive, to my surprise my 1:00pm appointment is not longer mine and I was moved for 2:30pm. I work 3 why would I take an appointment for that time??? Now, the person who answer the phone wasn't rude but it wasn't helpful either. I wish they work better with their scheduling system I did mentioned that to person but based on the way she answered me it didn't make any difference to her, so hopefully if they see this review they do something about. I really hate writing reviews and just to be clear this is just so they do something about how they are managing the appointments.

Both trips to costco for each of my daughters new glasses were efficient and friendly. The optical employees were helpful and patient while they waited on the phone to confirm my VSP coverage since VSP had down something wrong on their side. we will go back next year for our new frames.
