As someone who has lived in Big Rapids all my life, I highly recommend you do NOT use crew eye center. Both my mother and I have had awful experiences with them. I went to them recently because my normal eye doctor was booked out months in advance and I had to renew a contact lens prescription. The initial appointment went fine but dealing with the contact lens people in their office was terrible. The women that they have in that department are not kind. I asked for samples once after my prescription renewed while I waited for the new ones to come in and they didn't want to give me any, I was able to get one small box of 10 single lenses from them. I told them that I would have to reuse lenses and then the lady started to jump down my throat telling me she was going to inform my doctor that I soaked and reused daily lenses. I told her I had to do what I had to do while I waited for the shipment. They kept saying "well you should have glasses" and I told them that I do but they give me terrible migraines and every time I try to bring it up to the eye doctor they just tell me that's because how strong my prescription is. They messed up my prescription on the paper the first time as well so when I went to order online it wasn't correct and I had to get a new one from them and then the website would not even accept the prescription because they wrote it so blurry and it looks unprofessional that even the websites didn't think it was a legit prescription. When I called to try to talk to them about this and tell them my predicament they said they would absolutely give me no samples and that they had nothing in my prescription which makes no sense for an eye doctor's office and I explained to them why I needed a more fresh copy of my prescription and they said we don't know what to tell you that's just how we write them.. The woman ended up hanging up the phone on me and gave me attitude and told me to have a good day when I was just trying to get help. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism from a business in my life, especially an eye doctors office. Please I recommend go to Ferris State University or anywhere else because I've never been treated the way I've been treated by the people in that office. I hate giving bad reviews but it's the honest truth. When they speak to you on the phone they act like they have a grudge or they have a problem with you and they get really defensive and mean. Maybe this isn't everyone's experience but it sure is mine and I will never be back.

Every single time I go in there they cannot find my insurance information. Nothing has changed in a decade but they cannot seem to keep my insurance on file or even find it. They do not return calls either. I just cannot take it anymore and I am going elsewhere from now on.

The in person experience was decent but be prepared for them to refuse to give you your pupillary distance. You can’t buy glasses elsewhere without it which is why they don’t give it to you, I’d assume. We asked and were told no. But it was a good exam and we didn’t have to wait long.
