Great Experience. Dr. Chris took his time explaining things very clearly and where I could fully understand what my results were. He explained all treatments and options available. Absolutely the best eye doctor exam experience I have ever had. I would recommend Dr Chris to anyone. Craig F.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Custom Eye in Lenexa. I brought my deaf and autistic aunt in for a vision appointment, and I’ll admit—I was nervous about how the visit would go and whether they’d be able to properly accommodate her needs. The moment we walked in, all of my concerns completely disappeared. From the very start, Trudy and Megan at the front desk were incredibly warm and kind during check-in. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable right away. Our technician, Aiden, was absolutely amazing—professional, patient, and genuinely caring throughout the entire appointment. At one point, he even got down on the floor to help find my aunt’s glasses when she couldn’t locate them. That level of compassion and attentiveness meant so much to us. When it came time to choose frames, Jordyn was so helpful and patient, guiding us through the options. Samira and Regan also stepped in with their opinions and assistance, and their kindness truly stood out. It felt like a team effort to make sure my aunt felt confident and happy with her choice. And then there’s Dr. Chris Cossette—he was outstanding. Not only was he thorough and helpful, but he also offered to provide an ASL translator. Most importantly, he took his time and made the effort to find ways to effectively communicate with my aunt, ensuring she felt heard, understood, and respected. It’s rare to find a medical office where every single team member goes above and beyond, but that’s exactly what we experienced here. If you’re looking for compassionate, inclusive, and truly patient-centered eye care, Custom Eye in Lenexa is the place to go. We are beyond grateful for the care we received. 💛
Love the staff here. They're so friendly and fun. They laugh at my bad jokes and converse with me. I've seen Dr Cossette the last 2 or 3 times and he's been amazing every time. Thoroughly explains the pictures and is very quick and efficient with the exams.
We've been going to this place for years because it works with our insurance and the doctors have been decent. But there's been a lot of turnover of doctors and not enough in the front. I don't think I can adequately describe the vast distance between competent customer service and what these people deliver. Making an appointment is always a chore - they don't listen when you try to explain your options and availability. Bills are CONSISTENTLY wrong - their one shining star of consistency. I was in there last week with a kid and talked to them about an appointment. We set one. I put it in my calendar. It was for right now. I showed up 15 minutes early to do paperwork. I checked in WITH THE PERSON WHO SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT and she acted like I'm the idiot for not knowing there was a problem when they didn't send me reminders. If you can put up with the front office IDIOCY, you might probably get a good doctor. I'm looking elsewhere.
Your online hours and company website need to be updated to reflect your midday lunch closure. It is incredibly frustrating for customers—myself and six others today—to arrive during the only window many of us have for errands, only to find the doors locked without any prior notice. A staggered scheduling system should be in place to ensure someone is available for pickups during the 12:00–1:00 PM hour, as this is peak time for working professionals to stop by. Please align your digital information with your store reality to prevent wasting any more of your customers' time.
