I’ve been going to this clinic and seeing Dr. Meyer since I was in elementary school, when I got my first pair of glasses at age 6, back when he was at his previous location before moving to Gaston Ave. Dr. Meyer is amazing, and his wife, who used to work at the clinic, was amazing as well. I’m now 32 and still see him on and off, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same for his staff. I forgot her name (I’ll update this once I get it), but she sits in the back and assists with collecting payments and providing documents. HORRIBLE attitude. I do not like this girl at all, especially after the last time I spoke with her regarding a billing issue. The clinic billed an old insurance due to having two separate profiles, even though I had already confirmed my last name change and which insurance they should be using. They billed the wrong insurance, and instead of taking any accountability, trying to be reasonable, or at the very least showing better customer service and front desk etiquette, she was rude, raised her voice, and had a terrible attitude. Honestly, she is the complete opposite of the type of person I would expect Dr. Meyer to hire, considering how calm, low-toned, and professional he is. Now to present day: my son is 12 and wants to start wearing contacts due to sports. They have a 3-month term for your child to figure it out, or you have to pay again for a new exam, which doesn’t make sense to me since a prescription typically lasts a year. Nonetheless, it has been really difficult to schedule these “teaching” sessions. First, the doctor isn’t actually with you the whole time because they have other patients to see, so there really isn’t much guidance. If anything, our experience felt like the opposite. At one point, it caused my son’s eye to burn once a contact finally went in. As a contact user myself, I knew exactly why it happened, but I didn’t say much because I’m not a doctor. The issue was that the doctor assisting us (Dr. Nguyen) had my son repeatedly trying to put the contacts in. It was taking him a while, which is understandable because it was his first time. But every time he failed, they weren’t rinsing the contacts. Fingerprints were all over them, I could tell they were dry, and I knew if he finally got one in, it was going to burn because they weren’t being cleaned properly. At times, I even had to step in and ask things like, “Shouldn’t you explain how to tell if a contact is inside out?” She responded with, “Oh yes…” and then explained. Not to mention, after the eye burn Dr. Meyer took over to assist and told the clinic staff to add a certain eye drop that would calm the eye burn which helped a lot but of course now he was afraid to put in the other side because of the burn so, Dr. Meyer put it in for him. To conclude, my son was not able to figure out how to put the contacts in, and they will not allow him to have contacts if he doesn’t know how to put them in himself. Okay, valid. But why is it SO difficult to schedule these teaching sessions? Why aren’t the doctors better at teaching these kids? It’s their first time. Not to mention, scheduling is extremely difficult because their clinic hours are the same as normal working hours. I asked about Saturdays, but they said they can’t do Saturdays because there is only one doctor. I think the solution here is blocking dedicated time, or even a specific day, for these teaching sessions. Maybe a designated “Lesson Day.” Because the way it’s currently organized is not only inconvenient but frustrating. There is no accommodation, no flexibility, and not much help. Instead, the response is basically, “Can you take off work?” Are you going to pay me for the 8 hours I lose by missing work? Just really frustrating.

Absolutely the WORST customer service in the business. We were an emergency visit 2 weeks ago and after multiple phone calls they informed me there was an "issue at the lab" and they were going to have to restart the process. This as my child is about to start school and literally cannot see. We have burned through the back up pairs on hand due to accidents/travel. My hope was the practice could issue me some sort of credit to allow me to get a cheap pair made on my own while waiting on their lab. Not only was the optometrist unhelpful and condescending but the manager was as well. Hard to believe this place is still in business with the lack of professionalism and desire to truly help their patients. All this to say we spent $695 here for zero concessions to be made on their end.
Dr Wang was very friendly and her expertise was great. The whole process from the Staff to the Tech Testing to Dr. Wang was a very friendly, comforting experience. Dr Wang was very clear and honest with her explanation of my Eye’s conditions and concerns. There was no pressure to sale me glasses. I totally recommend this Dallas Eyeworks and Dr. Emily Wang.
Brilliant staff, great selection of primo frames. I was in & out within an hour with an exam, a new Rx and the EXACT frames that I came in looking for. 10/10 would recommend!
