This doctor office is quite pathetic. I have never seen any doctor office canceling the appointment last minute just for money. I had a surgery tomorrow after lens replacement and this office canceled my appointment and called me to pay the small previous balance or there is no need to come to surgery center tomorrow. They just canceled my appointment 12 hour before the surgery. Dr. Carter was the one who did the lens replacement surgery on my both eyes. I paid 12K from pocket and remaining was charged to the insurance. I had a deal with them that in total my expense won’t exceed 15K including my out of pocket and insurance claim. They got the money from insurance as well and billed me the remaining amount which I guess insurance refused to pay. This is insane behavior from this Doc office. Patient has no respect in this office. There is no respect for medical profession. It’s unbelievable they cancelled my appointment last minute Attach is the doc of proof that my both eyes procedure was scheduled with this office which they cancelled last minute just for money.

Did the consultation with its testing, fees, and so forth. I had my first surgery yesterday getting the worst done first. It was just over a 2 hour process and went well. I went in for first post op today and all was fine per the different "Hoyles" I dealt with. Slight blurriness and little to ni itching. All of the staff i have dealt with do their functions professionally and are courteously communicative. I drove home without any sight aides other than dun glasses because of the bright July Texas sun.
I came here years ago, and it was so stressful/terrible. They did not verify my insurance before my visit. They then had to reschedule part of my visit last minute. Then they made me wait over an hour and a half to verify my insurance before the visit, as I refused to be seen without verifying my estimated costs. Then when I was seen, I received a huge bill due to the facility not billing the visit correctly, even after I verified the clinic was in network and my costs were reasonable. Insurance told me that the facility had to correct the billing codes, and that CEC would have to pay that amount of money since it was their error. Then eight months later, the facility was calling me AGAIN to pay the same bill. I finally told their billing team that this was ridiculous, and that I had already been told that Carter Eye Center had to be the ones to correct the billing. Thank goodness that billing representative was competent enough to handle the situation and finally provide decent service. I had been deciding whether or not to write this review for years, as I do not ever write negative reviews. However, I truly would recommend going elsewhere. This experience caused me so much stress. Never again!
The best decision ever ✨💗 been 4 years since my surgery and im in love !! Make your best decision I 100% recommended ✨
I chose Carter Eye Center because I had always heard about it. At the first consultation my situation was explained to me. I had a genetic disorder that was going to make surgery critical. The first eye surgery went fantastic and my vision was 20/15. The second surgery was an extra difficult operation, which was miraculously performed by Dr. Carter. I now see so clear and with such precision that it is unbelievable. I highly recommend Carter Eye Center without any hesitation. The staff and everyone involved made it so simple and easy to manage my eye care.
